Really, I do. Kudos to Threadless, for making such a great shirt.

This was part of the Prate™ Parody Pack -- http://www.threadless.com/product/24/The_Prate_Parody_Pack -- I don't remember why we made this one into a shirt, but it was another Dreamless insider thing.

We got some threatening emails from tDR for a few days, before I poured the sugar on and convinced Ian Anderson that indeed this was a legal parody... and that it was created because everyone loves the Designers Republic and it was a good laugh. He finally came around, the Jakes sent them a tee shirt or two, and all was good.

I do a lot of works with maps and cartography. This was a piece I did several years ago (I think 2001)... and shortly after, I collaborated with J. Davis to make an digital piece for the Whitney Museum's ARTPORT. It was based on the artwork from this shirt. I don't think this shirt would make much sense to anyone who wasn't either a Dreamless member or a Prate™ fan, but this was the very first Threadless shirt. The Jakes asked me to design a Prate tee for them after they came up with the idea of Threadless... so I tried to make something that was relevant to all of our 'online friends' at the time. That audience has obviously changed quite a bit and I don't think the average Threadless participant today would have any idea "is what Prate".
