This isnt a blog about me calling this guy a rip-off, because I honestly dont think that.

I just think its pretty rad that this design is so reminiscent of my older design "Giant Enemy Crabs", where the name was a reference to an E3 internet joke, but the origional design itself was intended as a reference to the band "The Sound of Animals Fighting" for a T-Shirt contest they held on myspace.

Its very cool and I will probably buy it, but I have another crab tee in the works, maybe Im a bit hesitant to post it now... I dont want ignorant people to think I would be ripping off this shirt.

I really hate people who say "I'd never wear this shirt." That is such a pejoratively rude thing to say about anyone's design. And it's rarely true, anyway. You would, too, wear it. You've worn uglier things. Think back...

Looking through his website, I just realized he contributed to Flight issue 2 from image. Flight is an amazing book, I want to buy this even more now.

And I have decided to still post my new crab design sometime in the future.

I wouldn't say that it's a rip off just because it has crabs on it. Possibly the style of the crabs is similar. Think of it more as paying homage to your design.

Incidentally your crabs remid me of the Older Ones from H.P. Lovecraft's story The Whisperer in Darkness. If you havent' read it you should.

H.P. Lovecraft is the man. All of his stories always freaked me out since I live in New England.

Also, I am wearing this shirt right now. It is, in fact, the ballz.

Arivel, wait...why are the two shirts similar? I dont get it. Other than the fact that both have crabs, their themes seem to be completely different. Dont get me wrong, I know you said that you liked the the shirt, but i still dont even get why they are "reminiscent" of each other. They dont seem to be the same at all. explain?

Well, the linkage happens to be the use of the Dunganess crabs floating.

But to be honest, I'm just talking about pure coincidence, not pointing fingers.

Yeah, I dont throw around the "rip-off" card very often, and I am especially not doing it here.

And Kilyth, I will definetly go read that story, I like H.P. Lovecraft but I dont read him all that much.
