"calling home" is one of the designs that put threadless on the map. a design that combined superior draftsmanship, wit, and a pop culture phenomenon to make a true winner.

when a designer is simply the best, he has a way of making all of the other designers who are not the best, seem pathetic and small. you've got the glennz wannabees out there who use cheap gimmicks and sloppy "styles" to get attention. unprofessional people like bananaphone who couldn't design his way out of a paper bag, yet get printed only to satisfy the unintelligent masses.

"calling home" is being reprinted today in this great nation of ours because the public demands greatness. shirts like this one will print, and reprint, ten times over.

the bananaphones out there will come and go, and ultimately be forgotten. glennz however will continue to create instant classic after instant classic. all the while making it look so effortless.

i just want to congratulate glennz again for producing such unforgettable work. work that shines like a beacon among all the forgettable bananaphones out there.

glennz, i salute you.

Do you realize the "unintelligent masses" are the same "masses" who buy Glennz's designs? So what are they... unintelligent or do you think they still have good taste?

valorandvelum, you're in way over your head.

As obviously trolling as this is, I'll bite:

Glennz's "Dark Side of the Garden" was the first Threadless T I ever saw (that I am aware of) and then tracked down and bought... for my brother. I don't own any Glennz designs myself. I think they're terrifically clever, but they're not at all my style. However, I do have Bananaphone's "Let's Make Art" (printed by Shirtstain) and wear it regularly.

Different strokes...

I agree, Glennz work is far superior to most. his ideas are clear, execution is precise. i think he must like illustrator. does anyone know if he traces his images?

creampie on Apr 03 '07 at 3:28pm
I think he traces everything from Googol Images

oh snap...its the Lester himself! what do you think lester...does Glennz trace?
MissThreadless
MissThreadless on Apr 03 '07 at 3:46pm
I think he might, but i dnt think he has too. probably a time thingy.
LesterF
LesterF on Apr 03 '07 at 3:46pm
I'd like to think GLENNZ draws freehand. straight from his mind. no references.
MissThreadless
MissThreadless on Apr 03 '07 at 3:59pm
what about bananaphone...does he trace?
LesterF
LesterF on Apr 03 '07 at 4:04pm
bananaphone traces bad drawings
bananaphone
   bananaphone on Apr 03 '07 at 4:12pm
lester is just talking complete shit, that's fairly obvious, but on topic - glennz isn't the best, people like tom burns and moss have the same kind of skill set but are far more flexible and artistic. That doesn't make glennz bad, just doesn't make him "the best"
MissThreadless
MissThreadless on Apr 03 '07 at 4:19pm
you cant argue, Glennz does have the BEST ideas! whether he traces or not dosent matter.
J-Ray
J-Ray on Apr 03 '07 at 4:22pm
Maybe we'll have to go by who has the most number of prints to judge who's the best.

Who is that, anyway?
ISABOA
   ISABOA on Apr 03 '07 at 4:27pm
The problem with saying that someone is the BEST is that you shit all over everyone else. I personally think Glennz is great, but is he better than valorandvellum or cbuchholz? no, not at all ... because they do completely different stuff.

And cut it with the insulting of the cheap gimmicks
LesterF
LesterF on Apr 03 '07 at 4:29pm
GLENNZ is indeed the BEST. he's the best there is on threadless. i don't t know why there's an argument here
LesterF

bananaphone, i try to run a positive blog. so let's cut the comedy OK?

LesterF on Apr 03 '07 at 4:39pm
i don't even want to believe that GLENNZ uses any kind of wacom pen as others have suggested. i'm pretty sure it's a track ball mouse. he knows how good he is and its his way of sharpening his skills. each GLENNZ design is better than the last. you can't put a price on that.
MissThreadless
MissThreadless on Apr 03 '07 at 4:40pm
yes, that counts.
