its a miracle machine

on my way home from work practicing my downshifting going uphill, its not an easy thing, i've gotten the hang of it now, a man who'll ill later find out is wearing a tie-dyed styx t-shirt can't stop soon enough to not hit a bmw who'll ill find out later is driven by two asian girls (im guessing only one is actually driving, but both were in it).

he gets out, pretty shocked, they barely tapped, but you know how that sound is, its a crack, this is the second accident i've seen in a week, and this one was right in front of me.

i was listening to the wedding present really loud ("kennedy" is killer), and i turned it down because i felt bad for all of them, but i turned it back up when i passed them.

later, downshifting up another hill and doing it with ease, three older ladies and an older man holding a younger baby are holding up signs on a street corner opposing the president, the favorite sign being

MAKE LIVING-WAGE JOBS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED, NOT WAR

i thought 'snap your fingers, these sign holders know what to do, lets do it' and i know ithaca, ny is a pretty hippy liberal type town, but is this what happens when i grow old and retire? id rather sit on a porch and if it gets dirty, sweep it clean, its much more manageable, than trying to get jobs for an entire country

someone tell me how.
