Let's get in the mood for this weekend. Post your favorite Halloween songs.

This is the best:

Also what are you dressing up as?
We have two practically new grills here at the threadless warehouse and we plan on getting the maximum use out of them this summer.

We cooked some brats, burgers, and dogs today for lunch today for the meat eaters, and the herbivores made some black bean and corn burgers as well as boca burgers. There was also grilled eggplant and grilled pineapple.

(pics coming soon)

What are some other good thing we can grill out for lunch in the future? Also what are some good side dishes to make? (please post any recipes if you can)

UPDATE: I'm going to post when we are grilling so people can come out and grill with us(feel free to bring a side dish or dessert)

Not me, I'd end up in the Indian Ocean.

Anyone out there read any nerdy fantasy/sci fi/ weird fiction book and have any recommendations?

I've unfortunately fallen behind a bit on my reading so I could really use some new material.

Here's a list of my recommendations:

Sci Fi:
Douglas Adams - The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Iain M Banks - The Culture Novels
Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game

Fantasy:
J.R.R. Tolkein - The Lord of the Rings
Steven Erikson - The Malazan Book of the Fallen Series
Neil Gaiman - All of his novels/graphic novels
George R.R.Martin - Song of Ice and Fire Series

Weird Fiction:
China Mieville - All his novels
In about 20 minutes.

First of all if you don't think video games count as art you can GTFO right now. This blog is for the video game nerds out there.

So the Smithsonian is having people vote for which games should be included in their video game exhibit coming up.

You can vote here: http://www.artofvideogames.org/

You can vote by era, console, and genre and I'm telling you some of these choices are almost impossible.

I thought I'd throw out some of the ones that I'm having difficultly deciding on and see if we can get some lively debate on them.

Era 1:
I'll admit I'm not too familiar with a lot of these although Space Invaders vs. Missile Command vs. Yars Revenge gave me some difficulty. I ultimately went with Space invaders.

Era 2:
I sadly never had a Commodore 64 or a Sega Master System, but when it comes to the NES they threw me for a loop.

Mega Man 2 vs. Super Mario Bros. 3 vs. Metroid - Holy Crap! How the heck do you decide between these three? I went with Mega Man 2.

Final Fantasy vs. The Legend of Zelda!! - I had to go with Zelda but it tore my heart out to do so.

Era 3:
Sega Genesis - I was a little disappointed by the choices they made for this system.

SuperNES:
Super Mario World vs. Donkey Kong Country was a pretty hard choice, but I went with Super Mario World.

Chrono Trigger vs. Zelda ALTtP vs. Earthbound was another one that I found almost impossible to decide on. Winner: Chrono Trigger.

Era 4:
Windows/Dos
The only one that really gave me trouble here was Starcraft vs. Command and Conquer, but I spent far more time playing C&C so I had to vote for it.

Nintendo 64
Zelda Ocarina of Time vs Zelda Majora Mask, is there even a question here? This was a total gimme.
Same with Golden Eye 007 this was a hands down winner.

Sega Dreamcast - haha! The only reason I recognize any of the games for this system was because I worked at a video game store when this system was released.

PS1 - I would vote for FFVII over any game in any system for all time.

Era 5:
I'll be honest, I'm more of an old school video game guy so some of these new fangled games I don't like as much, but here are a few I do:

Xbox 360: Bioshock
Windows: Portal (love it), Fallout 3
Wii: Zelda Twilight Princess
PS2: God of War vs. Shadow of the Colossus was a tough choice, I went with Shadow of the Colossus since it was suppose to be based on artistic merit.

Final Fantasy X vs Kingdom Heart II vs Okami was another one I had to think about. I went with FFX because it's one of my favorite FFs

PS3:
Dragon Age Origins vs. Final Fantasy VIII, FFVIII was so disappointing to me I had to go with Dragon Age Origins.

Yeah, so those are some of my choices and I barely scratched the surface.

Do you agree/disagree with me? What are some of the choices that gave you difficulty? Are there any other games you thin should have been in the running but weren't?

Discuss!

Whoa! This is Awesome! maybe after the threadcakes competition there should be a threadlego competition.
