i mean it's the first time i ever broke anything and i wouldn't mind a remembrance of the fact that i'm not as invincible as i thought i was and also the fact i actually need to be CAREFUL.

typing with one hand really sux!

i was clearing the garage (carhole), it was quite dark. when i moved the ladder i heard something fall, like something out of the goonies. it sounded like i set off a friggin boobie trap! as it transpired i loosened the hanging pickaxe (metal bit at the top) hiding behind the ladder and it fell on it's handle. then in a blink of an eye the blunt end (luckily) of the pickaxe landed on my left ring finger and pinky on the step of the ladder. i was just glad it didn't land on my head.

totaly, v&v! i could've been two fingers short of a high ten!

the doc said 'lucky it wasn't the other end or we wouldn't be having this conversation'. then the other doc later strted tugging at my finger without any anaesthetic 'EEEEYOWWWCHHH!' the nurse said 'at least you didn't come here with your fingers in a bag'. these comments strted to freak me out a bit :S

too bad they charged you. when i had an inch-deep hole in my shoulder from a spider bite, the nurse took pictures of it. i went all around the hospital in search of that picture and i finally got it after i signed some forms. sometimes i find it in my stuff and i cringe. you xray made me do the same thing when i finally focused on the break.

I'm looking at your x-rays and I'm thinking, "Funny, I don't see anything. It must not have been that bad. He's exaggerating." I read down a couple of comments and my eyes involuntarily flick back up... oh gosh. How did I not see that?! I'm so sorry for doubting you. And, good luck with typing, and the physio.

Now I know it's possible, I might try to get the x-rays of when I hyper extended my leg. It's worth a try.

i love x-rays!!

Ive gotten so many x-rays done (im very accident prone) that once in the ER the doctor was like...we need to clear out your old x-rays so that we dont get confused with the new ones did you want these? and handed me this folder of x-rays hahahaha I was like are you allowed to do that? and he goes yeah Im a doctor haha it was really funny so I took them

when the impact happened i really didn't think i broke anything until walking into town to do some shopping straight after. i thought i'd feel better if someone checked out this *click* in my finger and mayb stitch the gash up. it wouldn't stop bleeding! so i walked to minor injuries. the nurse looked at them and said i was really lucky i didn't break them, i was sooooo relieved... 'what's this click then?' after the x-rays she changed her mind and said if i had a lift to the city hospital so i can get the ring finger put back into place, 'yikes!' it's quite a long and freaking out story after that with internal surgery being mentioned 'huuuuuwhhhaaaatt??!!' and a lot of waiting around but luckily it didn't go that far, 'phew'

i was quite surprised and pissed off i broke them but i guess if there was anything that was going to break me a pickaxe ain't to shabby. it's worth a tenner for the x-rays i think with the idea this will be the first and last time i'll break anything *touch wood*

i did the form and they gave me the x-rays on CD but they didn't look x-rayee enough. so photoshop did the rest.

if anyone has broken anything and had to do physio how long was it till it was back to normal? (if at all :S)

My dad broke his ankle about a year ago and I don't think he actually did physical therapy even though they had to put a steel rod in or something, and he's back playing tennis now.
Aside from that I don't know much.

That's an amazing x-ray.

Once I broke my middle finger bowling, then proceeded to pass out. Then the doctor had to reset them, which was him just popping back in place with with bare hands.

thats why in the future bones will be replaced by robots just like everything else so they're less prone to breaking

Ouch that looks like it hurts pretty bad.

Lucky you got to keep your x-rays, I have never been allowed. I did get to take my mouth e-rays home but I had to give them back a week later.
