So I have a sinus infection and I thought, instead of going to the walk in clinic and getting some antibiotics like I normally would, why don't I see what I can find on the internet.... I'm a dumb ass

Here is the remedy I found
2 cups V8 Juice (for vitamin c)
2-3 cloves Garlic crushed (use more if you can)
2 T Lemon Juice
Hot Sauce (the more the better, so as much as you can handle)

Since I didn't have all this at home I used
Water (I'm already taking extra vitamin c)
garlic powder (which turned out to be garlic salt)
Lemon Juice (got that one right)
Frank's red hot (not that hot to me)

Now I feel like puking everywhere; because it tasted like shit...
and every time I burp I taste it again...

nice...

Hey guess what... I have one too!

I have been rinsing my sinuses with salt water every hour for 2 days. It's been helping significantly.

   0Jim0 on Jun 27 '08 at 7:30pm
yea, I don't think it's helping at all... I think it just makes people feel like morons and then those people suggest it to other people to they don't feel like morns alone.

I'm trying to break the cycle.

Ugh, when I had an awful cold, my dad made me use one of those. It didn't do very much, though I'm not sure I used it right. I've heard that they work amazingly well, but I was too grossed out to use it again.

the worst part is I have to fly next Tuesday... It could be a real disaster...
t4sh4
t4sh4 on Jun 27 '08 at 7:34pm
I just use a syringe (w/o a needle attached) and spray it up there. I'm almost 100% better...yesterday I had to stay home from work I was so miserable. I've also been drinking tons of packs of Emergen-C stuff.

t4sh4
t4sh4 on Jun 27 '08 at 7:35pm
^isa I'm too cheap to pay for those packs... esp since salt does the same thing ;)
radiostaticstar
radiostaticstar on Jun 27 '08 at 7:36pm
yeah, saline is the only thing that's working for me right now.

especially since all those meth heads fucked up pseudoephedrine.
sure it's not great for the heart and everything, but boy it sure cleared my sinuses...

Thanks though

The original remedy doesn't sound like it'd be terrible, but still, I feel sorry for you.

Another thing you shouldn't do: take vitamins as soon as you get up and while your kidneys feel like they're dying (meaning that you drank a lot of water on an empty stomach). I did that and it made me feel incredibly nauseated... I hung around in the bathroom for half an hour in case anything happened, until I figured it'd be good to get something to eat instead.

I've done that too Blossomopossum, not good..
I can picture the milk curdling in your stomach from the acids in the lemon juice againstbound.

I posted it here knowing people would laugh, I am!
that's what I get for being a moron.
hanzabean
hanzabean on Jun 27 '08 at 8:45pm
I think the burping part is what got me, because I laughed again.

I don't see how the original thing would really do anything except if you totally believed it would, and that had the placebo effect somehow.

I'm a moron sometimes, too. One time I sort of fell into a partially frozen ornamental pond (like four feet deep) because I stepped on it to see how frozen it was.

   0Jim0 on Jun 27 '08 at 8:47pm
thats funny.
My assumption was that the hot sauce would open up your sinus and I don't know what the lemon and garlic; but garlic seems to show up in almost all home remedies..
