Since all submissions start off with a post by the artist (below the design) in the comment section, regardless of whether they actually leave a comment or not, could you possible make that initial artist comment editable in the future?

It would be nice if the designer could update that first post to clarify any confusion, or post links to additional color choices/alternate placement, etc. That way the voters can see these new comments left by the designers, without having to scroll through the page to find them.

I don't know if any of that made any sense. It was just idea that popped into my head, as I was trying to clarify some confusion someone was having with one of my designs.

The biggest benefit to having that first post editable would be the ability to post additional links.

Um, but that's exactly my point. That you basically shouldn't embellish / alter your design rationale or thinking etc AFTER you have designed it based on comments, especially when you never had been seriously considering the idea in the first place. (And if you really had, shouldn't you have included it?)

I'm more for letting the design speak for itself. No words, no explanation, no nothing, just the design itself.

BUT I'm not insisting adamantly that it shouldn't be editable or anything. Just offering an alternative opinion, that's all.

(Oh no, I just talked back to one of the purple shields. I'm actually paranoid of my design getting a low score, not that it wouldn't anyway on its own. But still...... )

I actually think the biggest advantage is if there is some big debate about your design (copyright, etc), you can address it at the top of the design rather than have people hammering away at the design and its designer for comment after comment before i see an artist's repsonse.
