Did This Cross a Line?

My latest design for the Threadless Loves Death is getting some "oh my" -s early on.

I tried to express in my comment about the design that it was rather satirical, but I guess it is a bit dark. To explain, I guess that is just my sense of humor slightly at times. It doesn't have boundaries, and I really wanted to get away from the use of skulls because I continue to see them in almost every design for the competition. Check it out below and tell me what you think.... I really would love to discuss, especially with those who do find it to cross a line, just to kind of get an idea I guess.

In summary, if you don't want to read above, does this cross a line?

there's death and there's death. i'm not sure suicide is a particularly lovable version of death.
plus you didn't include a skull, as the brief requested.

Not necessarily suicide! It could also be interpreted as an execution or a lynching.

While I can appreciate both the wordplay and the execution (no pun intended) of the concept, it's definitely not something I would wear out in public.

Your challenge is to design a tee inspired by Morbid Curiosity, The Richard Harris Collection art exhibition aka the imagery of death!

in bold, and missed the sentence a few paragraphs down.

also, as nasmo suggested I was referring to an execution, i guess thats what I think of when I hear hangman or in this case hanger

When I see a hanger and "death" I think abortion. So that's working against you too. In any case, probably not the sort of thing you'd want on your shirt.

I am a college student that is majoring in computer science while trying to minor in both math (boo!) and art (yay!).

I have been a member and enormous fan of Threadless for years now. Unfortunately, the few web development projects I take on and my busy college schedule do prevent me from being as active as I have always hoped to be. It is still, however, a lifetime goal of mine to one day join the ranks of the Threadless alum.
