Did you ever receive something in the mail from me and Ethan? We got you a little present in Chicago, and he mailed it to you a couple of weeks ago, I think, but I believe he sent it to your mom's address or something because he didn't have yours? I'm not sure exactly. I'm just wondering if it ever got there.
It makes me happy whenever I see it.

I just found out a little while ago that this youngish woman on my floor (young enough to have a 21-year-old daughter) died last night. I'd worked with her once, very briefly, but didn't really know her at all. She seemed really nice, though. Obviously a lot of people on the floor are pretty distraught over it--lots of hysterical crying, etc. Just a very somber tone overall.
My reaction when I heard was just kind of "Oh..." since I wasn't close to her. I always feel weird when things like that happen, as though there's an expectation for me to be really upset. Awkward, strange day... |
