get any odd trick-or-treaters this year?

for reference, i live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building housing college-age people, and there are virtually no families nearby, so i wasn't expecting any trick or treaters period.

but i just had a grown man dressed as michael jackson and carrying a half-full grocery bag knock on my door and say "trick or treat! do you have any candy? .... or food? ... or spare change? or.... i'm homeless"

he looked happy and friendly and surprisingly convincingly like michael jackson, considering he's supposedly homeless.

i didn't have any candy for him. i felt bad.

where does a hobo get a michael jackson costume?

you know, khol, you could be right. that is, i guess it could've all been coincidence. i mean, maybe his clothes looked like they were from the 80's because they were from the goodwill and were from the 80's. and maybe he had only one glove on because he couldn't afford the other. and maybe that glove had only sequins all over it because that gives it better insulation against the wind.... or something.

weird!

there's a russian family that immigrated 10 yrs ago that live down the block from me. i swear to all that is holy they have 20 kids and they all look & sound alike. last year they rotated costumes, which made it interesting when their teenagers showed up. half the crew came early this year and i just now had their teenage boys show up drinking "slurpees" and hitting me up for candy.

nothing weird, just a bunch of pretty, pretty princesses...

I've only had one trick or treater and i had to tell them to go away because i hadn't stocked up on treats yet. Since coming back from the shops with some food, noones knocked and i've eaten everything haha

are you sure they have 20 kids that all look and sound alike that came in shifts and happened to rotate costumes? it sounds way more likely that they had, say, 4 kids that just came back as a group 5 times and insisted they were not the same kids as before :P

it's halloween. i have no candy. i have no costume. i have no party. i have no horror movies. i have no fun.

all i have is grotesque amounts of work that i've been toiling away at all day and that i will continue to slave away at for many days to come.

worst halloween ever :(

haha, no, i'm certain they have nearly 20 kids.
i've seen them outside of halloween.
it's a brood, a street gang even.

ages 5 to 18ish i think,
cause one of them graduated h.s this spring.
