please, when have you ever seen dead poetic use light colours as well as this? It's what ive been saying he should do for like a year now.

I don't think it's that similar to DPU it's more like stinger's stuff and even that's not that close.

You don't see the simliarity between these? The style is basically the same... the shapes of the faces, the expressions, the x's for eyes etc... it looks like a cross between deadpoetic and stinger.

I agree they look similiar, but the subtle color scheme looks great.

And Banana is right, Dead Poetic should try more pleasing color schemes!

I don't think they're that similar.. DPU's characters always have clean fills... I've never seen him overlap line drawings onto disassiciated blocks of colour.

The characters look similar but Monster & Cie hit this one further than DPU has yet. Awesome design.

The use of color and the way transparancy is suggested with line weight is pretty much genious.

there are a few artists here that do similar styles...but dead poetic's style is very consistent...i can tell immediately that it's his.

thats true co and co, i hadnt really looked at the line weight treatment in depth til you mentioned it. Nicely done - Ray does similar in his darkness cometh.

no....... not at all. =/ threadless artists are not the only ones who draw big mouths like that anyway or that shape of the head.. there's a significant difference to me..

dead poetic's style is much more flat-ish.. even the curves of the mouth on his is quite different.. usage of eyes for dead poetic is much more oblongish than circle anyway.. and the only reason why you could say it is similar it's because it is so japanase cartoonish.. and they share somewhat the same characteristics. =/

i'm not too big on the default spray can and paint brushes used to create the background for monster.

i'm partial to dead poetic though b/c i've been following his work for a while now, anything else is just a rip off

All about me

"All great religions will try to convince you that they know the answer no matter the question... be weary of those who believe in a neat little world because it's just fucking crazy and you know that it is."

"Strange evolution when people have come to believe that we are it's greatest achievement, when we're really just a collection of cells overrating themselves."

- Dave Matthews

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to SHINE as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

-Marianne Williamson
