Okay, I got this and Angels & Demons today.

I turned them both inside out and proceeded to wash them in cold water on gentle and then tumble dry low.

I start taking out my clothes, and I see a huge ball of green thread... my heart stops.

This is one of my favorite shirts to date... and sure enough, the entire bottom stitching came out. Anyone else having this issue?

p.s. - the AA shirts were so much better :( (angels and demons is amazing on AA)

Got replacement in the mail
I got my replacement in the mail, and I just finally washed it with nothing else other than threadless shirts and it did the same thing again in the same place.

Wouldn't they give you another one if you just asked them nicely?

It's annoying, but an easy fix for anyone with a sewing machine.

mindtrance on Aug 14 '06 at 9:38pm
I don't have a sewing machine :(

I may add it to my cart, and send this back for a full refund.

Email threadless and tell them, its worth a try. I haven't had that happened but I only have 1 threadless shirt now. (8 are coming in the mail though, one is for my brother...so 7.)

this is my 27th, and that's never happened before.

Shit happens.

Learn from it.
mindtrance
mindtrance on Aug 14 '06 at 9:42pm
What is there to learn from? I have 27 shirts that all have been washed in this same way... the shirt fell apart on the first wash, that's a bad product not my fault.

FOTL really needs better quality control. I really hope my tees are ok. Good luck!

cherrypop on Aug 14 '06 at 10:08pm
What are they using? I thought they were still using AA shirts.
Radioactivejosh
Radioactivejosh on Aug 14 '06 at 10:09pm
Threadless tees are FOTL. Select tees are AA.

desperaclo on Aug 14 '06 at 10:13pm
threadless guys tees = FOTL

threadless girly tees, threadless select tees = AA
cherrypop
cherrypop on Aug 14 '06 at 10:16pm
Hey, at least your shirts all come the same size. AA has a problem keeping the girl shirts uniform. Some of my shirts fit great and some are way too big even though they're all the same size.

Threadless is super nice, and their customer service is excellent and very understanding, so I think especially in a case like this where you pretty much got a defective shirt, they'll let you exchange it or refund you, etc. :)

lsmc88 on Aug 14 '06 at 11:18pm
yeah, i think that threadless customer service is THE best I've ever encountered

I had the same problem once with Gingerbread Nightmare. It's from washing the shirts inside out - the stitches are so big that they catch on zippers or a rough spot on your washing machine. I haven't had it happen since I started washing all my shirts right-side out.
mindtrance
mindtrance on Aug 15 '06 at 6:01am
really? I'm hoping threadless is understanding about it if that's the case, I've never had an issue before.

I have the same problem with Dark Side of the Garden. Each wash eats a little more of the shirt :(

Weirdly enough, the day after I commented on this entry, an AA tank top of mine (plain/blank, not from threadless) had the same problem with the stitches on the bottom seam coming out :O I know your problem was with a non-AA shirt, but I just thought it was a weird coincidence! hehe

Yeah this has happened to me twice actually... it happened the first time after I washed my Medio Victim and it also happened to my Predicament shirt :( I had already had both of them for over a month so I don't think I could get a refund or an exchange, but it just sucks :( I guess my mom said she might be able to sew them :P

This exact same thing happened to me yesterday when I was washing my "3 House" for the first time! And I've got 4 more on the way, I really hope this won't happen again.

Hmmm...I haven't had this happen but I don't dry any of my shirts in the dryer, just air dry.

This one is a select T right? So it's AA?

All about me

"All great religions will try to convince you that they know the answer no matter the question... be weary of those who believe in a neat little world because it's just fucking crazy and you know that it is."

"Strange evolution when people have come to believe that we are it's greatest achievement, when we're really just a collection of cells overrating themselves."

- Dave Matthews

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to SHINE as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
