Okay so I didn't really propose but my girlfriend made an interesting point. Buying a gaming laptop (she's going back to school and wants to play Warhammer Online when it comes out) for her was sort of a geek way of getting her a ring. I was nervous and I felt like I somehow made a big commitment to her by doing so.

I've got the M1710, it's a great gaming laptop, I can only assume the M1530 will be too (only smaller).
