so i just got a new computer today, and i recently finished loading on all of my previous stuff. and when i went on the internet, the sound wasnt working, so i opened Windows media player to see if it was the speakers, the music starting playing. I dont know why just the internet doesnt have any sound. any suggestions?

do you have all the right browser plugins for whatever you're listening to?

quicktime
flash
windows media player
real audio
etc.

also, what are you trying to listen to? it could also be the website.

i know youtube was having some problems a week or so ago and the sound kept cutting out on me.

have you made sure the browser applications they're playing through aren't muted? and did you check Volume Controls on your computer to make sure nothing's muted?

you'd have to find out what sound card you have and then get the driver from the manufacturer's website
