tina-tinkle-toes, I cant say I come from the gutter, but I come from a fairly urban town with its share of rough edges. I've been to several of America's cities and seen the good and the bad. No, I've never spent a night in a heatless house or used food stamps, so, I don't know what "tough living" entails? Since my "ghetto approved" card hasn't arrived in the mail, should I return the shirt?
...I don't even know why I used 3 sentences in the last paragraph defending my knowledge and experience with "ghetto" living. I think so many people on here are "outraged" over this because it's the right thing to do/say. Oh, that's so tasteless. Where's the class, threadless? You honkies have no idea what the ghetto is like. This is the same t-shirt site that sells several shirts with the likeness of Jesus on it, not to mention one of its most popular items contains a person committing suicide.
What I'm trying to get at is—life is too fucking short to get your panties in a bunch over a fairly tame t-shirt. If this shirt were made about "white" stereotypes, nobody would care.
