Time Travel...a question.

Imagine you were given the ability to time travel..BUT you were only allowed to travel either backwards to the past OR forwards to the future. Which would you pick, and why?

There's no reason for this question..I was just wondering is all.

See I was thinking backwards too..but then I'd want to know what the future holds cos I'm nosey. Oh pointless decision making..

really difficult. I assume you can travel and come back?

Will your travel effect the past/future?

I think I'd like to go back and see what happened really. See dinosaurs, neanderthals, romans, the wonders of the world etc....

but of course I'd need a few important tools to take with me like a cloak of invisibility, a galactic translator and the power of invincibility....

i was said go to the future for sure. without a doubt.

if i went to the past theres a chance i do something and mess up the future. also i am very curious as to what the future holds, i can play the xbox 9000, and get all the loto numbers and sports wins of the future and then bet in the real time and make a gazillion dollars

well that all depends. When you go back in time to you go dirrectly into your past selfs body or is it like back to the future and there is two of you. If you could go back into your own body then the past is where i would go, but if not it looks like the future so i could see where i end up and if i dont like it i can make the proper changes

Yeah I was thinking you could travel and come back to the present..just one way or the other.
Also I was thinking more of just observing..not really affecting the outcome of anything..so yeah I suppose being invisble would be good too. I'll throw that in for good measure!

If you can change the future by going back I'd go back because then, if you were clever enough, and youdidn't get killed, you could pretty much tailor the future to how you want it.

If you can't change stuff, then into the future it is. I always say I don't want to die because I want to find out what happens...

I think my desire to see what happens in the future would overpower my desire to confirm what happened in the past.

Very good. He just randomely time travels and ends up naked in somwhere/somewhen. All about paradox and stuff. Essentially it is a love story but if you are geekily into time travel like I am then it's great on that level too.

Often he meets himself, and 'present' self helps the time travelling self. It's all very clever.

i think if you went back in time and actually lived through some of the events that are glorified in history, you'd be horrified to find how badly history is actually written, and you'd feel as though you'd wasted your opportunity to live a better life in the future.

It would be so easy to go back in time and be a God, or a king.

And I think what Spires said is so true. History has been corrupted so badly. I'd love to go back and meet Jesus and Mohammed and see what they were like.

I think Buddha existed, I think Jesus existed and I think Mohammed existed, I just don't really think they were who/what it is believed they were today. If that makes any sense.

Backwards. You'd know what the future held, at least for a few years. I also don't want to be closer to my old age and pooping in my undies. I don't want to be controlled my evil robots. I think I'd rather live now though, and have the best of both. Modern medicine and technology, but still have all the great literature and cool stuff from the past. I'm honestly pretty happy right now. I can pause live TV. What more could a girl need?
