Aren't ALL girly tees American Apparel?

They're always on American Apparel shirts, aren't they? So why do they still cost $25 for the "Select Designs?" Or is that just because they're allowed to use more than 4 colors? I don't know, it seems like a huge jump.

And because they're designed by "pros" or whatever, so they probably pay the designers of Select tees a fair bit more than $1500 (+ $500 of Threadless stuff).
And you pay more for the prestige factor too, probably. "Ooh, I'm wearing a shirt designed by (designer)! Aren't I cool and prestigious?" That doesn't work so well if it's like, "Ooh, I'm wearing a shirt by Genée Cosden!" (Not to pick on Genée, she knows I love her, but I just mean most people would be like, "WTF, who is that?" and you can't really blame them.)

they can print anywhere, with 8 inks, that can include puff, foils, silver etc.

From what I heard they actually pay only 1000 because they don't have to go through the competition and they can do what they want.
