Hi, I'm Connor. I love to create, whether it be sculpting, drawing, card making, sewing, origami, videos, music, and smiles :) I think its because God is creative, I mean, He made everything, and we are made in His image. I play the infamous Ocarina and the tiny Ukulele. I'm also a gamer raised with the classics. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. Sometimes, when I would get nervous about getting a blood test or being admitted to the hospital, I would Draw things I liked. I would draw and draw until I finished coloring it. The thing is I would only be able to create something for 3 reasons...
1) I was inspired by an art style (Like invader Zim).
2) If I was drawing it for someone I loved or thought would appreciate it.
3) For a contest.
4) I get new supplies.
Its been tougher to draw lately because of my health...
At the age of around 12 or 13, I was diagnosed (after misdiagnoses 2 times) with Crohns Disease, a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract. Within the first 2 weeks I lost about 20 lbs from vomiting and diarrhea (couldn't make it to the bathroom most of the time) almost all day and loss of appetite. The doctor prescribed a steroid called Prednisone. It worked for a couple of years, with the only "noticeable" side effect being puffy cheeks. After awhile though I noticed my knees hurting, then my legs, then my lower back, and finally my upper back. I would wake up and have massive bake spasms where I couldn't move or breathe. I was given crutches to take the pressure off but it didn't do much, Then after drawing for a couple hours my neck got stiff and hurt, It happened when I was concentrating on my art but it didn't go away, I use a neck brace and cant turn my neck to this day. We finally were told by another doctor that the prednisone has a well know side effect which causes Osteoporosis. It also causes avascular necrosis, which developed in my left hip causing a hip replacement at the age of 18. when I was about 15 or 16 I had to get 3 1/2 of my intestine removed. They also decided to remove my appendix (even though it was healthy) because they were taught some organs are left over from evolution and have no use, but I believe God created everything for a purpose and scientists now know the appendix is a vital part of the immune system, it hides the white bloods cells during excessive bowl movement so they stay in the body and help repair it. That explains why since that surgery (which was supposed to help my gain weight and heal) I've lost so much weight, I'm now about 55 lbs at the age of 21. I use crutches primarily to walk around the house, get in the car and get into my wheelchair, which I use for stores and buildings. Every piece of my art literally has my blood, sweat, and tears. I usually have an ongoing spasm for about a week after one of my drawings. When I draw or create something, I really care about it. I hope this has helped to know me a little better, I hope you don't pity me, because I am truly blessed. I have the most wonder full Mother and Sister, a Dad that provides, two awesome, cute dogs, Eyes that work, a functioning brain that works overtime sometimes, my legs still work, I have all of my hair, and a unique situation to touch peoples lives. Thank You for listening and don't be afraid to ask questions, I don't get offended easily (Only by ignorant people ;)
