Clearly I could see, "THe." I made, "Beyond," out much later. I would have never been able to make, "Pit," out without being told so because the T is strange. My friend, probably because she has been up for forty hours, thought it said, "Beyond You." It is a unique design but shoddily made. Slogans should be read with ease. The artist has talent, especially spatial. How many drafts did he make?

the point of these contests is that the client doesn't want an easily readable name or slogan. illegible type was the perfect solution.

from the most recent Loves Threadless contest:

"The design is not required to say "SXSW Interactive" or "Interactivated!" on it... in fact, we'd prefer it does not."

All the Loves Threadless contests i've seen have said the same thing. I don't know why, but i guess because tshirts with slogans look like souvenirs and by not having a slogan on your shirt it is more broadly marketable. Whatever the reason i think it's a cool rule.
