Yes, I've finally got round to selling my "goofy drawings" (as one Threadless regular put it). It's taken a while but I'm really pleased with the results. All feedback welcome, even if it's only "the nerve of that guy" or "your doodles are crap"...

Doodleblog Souvenir Shop

No purchase necessary, although I wouldn't want to stop you... There are a few free downloads available too (loads more to come).

Oh, and if anything doesn't work, please let me know.

Cheers,
Simon

it'd be nice if it was more straight forward though.

Hey thanks guys! "Far too poor " - yes, I realise they're a touch spendy but I've looked around and the prices are pretty standard for giclée prints, there should be lots of extra free stuff soon paryrings. How do you mean "more straightforward" bananaphone? It's not too late to change stuff...

I really like it - my only thought....is that when choosing the "about us" tab id like some background info on you and how u started? unless im being stupid and have missed it! good work tho :)

Erm, no, you're not being stupid... I need to put some text in the About Us page. It took so long to get the text together for the rest of the site I just couldn't wait any longer and linked it up to the main Doodleblog page. There should be a bit of background in there tonight...

I like the design of your web a lot. Clean lines and wide spaces always get me.

it all looks great, did u happen to get your giclée prints from a local shop or some place online?

No, I bought an A1 printer when I set up my design agency so it's all done in-house on the cheap! Well, not really, ink and paper costs are pretty steep. I've had it for nearly a year but I haven't got round to attaching the roll feed yet, that's why there aren't any canvas prints available on the site even though I've got the artwork and a bloody great roll of canvas in the office...

I've got another shop in development selling art for children called Gotcha Nose and coming very soon, that's why I'm still in the office at 1 o'clock in the morning editing style sheets.

Nice to see everyone likes the shop, it should have been updated this week (more desktops) but I've been too busy. There should be quite a bit more soon.

If that a prebuilt shop or did you code it yourself?

Hi Brandon,

It's a prebuilt PHP thing but the default CSS is v. ugly. Some of the functionality is straightforward if you know PHP but there's a nice (although not at all intuitive) CMS with this and things like the currency conversion script is really cool and well beyond my hack, cut and paste abilities.

The developer site is here: http://www.codetosell.com. They have free (with database limitations), light, standard and enterprise versions. I'm using the standard version for both this and GotchaNose.com (when it's up).

That's cool...I tried tweaking around the OSCommerce Script, but once again a little too advance for me...Awesome looking by the way.

Yeah, I looked at a few OpenSource options but wasn't convinced I'd be able to create a decent template quickly enough and while the Doodleblog shop is just a nice to have addon to the Doodleblog main site, Gotcha Nose is a proper project with a budget, schedule and deadline.
