Recently I've started to notice the slogans being posted are utterly horrible. At least most of them. Now, I won't say that mine are strokes of brilliance, but atleast they're not complete crap - atleast I don't think they are. :)

Here are some suggestions for people submitting slogan-suggestions:

- "This shirt"-type text is not funny
- "If you can read this"-type text is not funny
- Playing on the person wearing the shirt is not funny ("I am hot!" etc.)
- Playing on the person seeing the shirt is not funny ("When you're finished reading, kiss me!" etc.)
- Using gender-specific stuff isn't really a good idea - you'd probably want to print something unisex
- Excessive swearing just doesn't work, so don't go there
- "Funny" racial comments are just voted down anyway, so why not try to be creative instead?

The slogans I find most attractive are those that are just simple, yet clever text. Just look at what has already gotten printed - those shirts should give you a good idea about what becomes popular.

Rant rant rant etc. :)

Part of the fun of slogan rating is delving through the crap :P

I'm the first to admit my slogans are shit.
If they happen to win I'm 200 dollars richer, if they don't oh well.

I don't much care if the slogans are bad, but it annoys me when people don't delete the obvious losers. If a slogan is really sucking, the writer shouldn't wait for it to get thrown out, they ought to just kill it and spare the rest of us the suffering.

That said, I was amused to find someone else with a photosynthesis slogan.

I'm totally disappointed with the slogans, it just seems like everyone is submitting anything just on the off chance people might like it. The majority of them are total crap, for sure.
Not that I'd necessarily be much better, but most of the slogans sound like they were written by 12 year olds.

Who cares what they sound like? Thats why youre allowed to say you dont like them. Do you think huge corporations only throw out one slogan and its perfect? They all get together, say a bunch of terrible shit and one slogan sticks out. They only print one slogan a week at threadless for the same reason. We need the crap to appreciate the perfect one.

Personally what I dont like is when a person takes their slogans from popular litterature.

Actually I did have one left over that said "you" which I ment to delete - it's gone now, thanks for the tip. :)

..and again; I do not believe I'm Gods gift to slogans or that the ones I have are really really awesome (they are not :), but I DO think that submitting "My other shirt is on your girl/boyfriends floor!" for the Nth time is mindbogglingly inept. :)
