So... I ordered myself some shirts back in November... 'cookie loves milk' and my second 'damn scientists' (i had a freak-out moment when i got paint on it one day, and decided to get an extra one when it was reprinted, just in case something ever happens). Now, since I used my mom's money to buy the shirts, the Damn Scientists shirt was put aside to be given to me for Christmas. When I finally got it on monday and tried it on, it was WAAAAYYY too big! How could that be?

Well, it seems that the new shirts threadless is printing on run very differently size-wise. So, in an effort to warn you all, I have created this little visual aid:

*edit* - it has come to my attention that these are not the new threadless brand shirts at all... no less disheartening, but if you read the comments, you will see that my visual aid is labelled incorrectly... [/edit]

the girly shirts are a little stretched out from my large bossoms, and because I didn't wash them before I took the pictures, but you still get the idea.

And I used photoshop to change the color of the new guys shirt so that it's visible. yup.

I'm still waiting to find out if there's any way I can exchange the shirt now that it's past the 30-day return period... *sigh*

If I can't, I guess I have a *New* Guys Medium 'Damn Scientists' shirt up for grabs...

well since they aren't printing on the new shirts yet, I think you might just have a bad batch or you need to wash and dry your shirts since they do shrink.

There is inconsistencies between colors in both F.O.L. and A.A. maybe that's the problem.

they must be printing on the new shirts, because the last two girly shirts I've gotten (the birds and the bees shirt and 'cookie loves milk,' which is the bright pink one) are a completely different cut and weight of fabric than the American Apparel and old girly shirts I have.

Check and see if there are still remnants of a cut-off tag. If not, they're probably printing on the new shirts.

hmmm well, then if these aren't the new shirts, something even fishier is going on here. This is very upsetting because I LOVE the way the most recent girly shirts i've gotten fit (because as you can see, they are longer... and they also stretch more, especially over the boobies), but if the new Threadless brand shirts are going to be smaller than both of the shirts pictured, I'm so screwed.

then there's everyone blaming shirt discrepencies on American Apparel... but the biggest problem, as you can see, is the guys shirts, which are Fruit of the Loom.

i have american apparel shirts which are as varied in size as what you've shown above. especially if you're measuring washed vs. unwashed. and some do feel as though they are made of different fabric than others, although that seems unlikely. i believe squeege is right, that these shirts are still aa and the fluctuations you see are due to poor quality control.

Yeah I notice that the shirts are bigger, but I don't mind that much. I like them longer, I just wish that they weren't bigger in the bust. My newest shirt (Rock out with your Cock out) is a bit bigger than my old ones, but it actualy looks a little better, and since they all shrink in the wash, it ends up fitting perfectly.
