The Panda Who Said Meow This is a story written by my daughter (Araia), my wife (Brianna) and I. We printed a children's book last year ( click here for pdf ) for Christmas, and decided to expand the story and animate it this year. Merry Christmas from me and mine to you and yours! ![]() I have made this image as an argyle pattern with a cellulose (cotton) molecular structure built in (because it will be on a cotton t-shirt, get it?!) at any rate, as far as I can tell, this is cotton in it's purest form, but I've researched and seen a few variations, some with carbon and methylidyne, some with nitrogen. I don't know which is appropriate for consumer fabrics.
If Threadless were able to create a smartphone app of your dreams, what would it do?
(I'll be using iPhone termanology, as it's what I know) Reasonable wish: Push notifications when a blog you watch (submissions included) are commented on. Fantasy wish: Edit together mini movies (a la extranormal) using a cast of well known t-shirt design characters.
It's an oddly worded blog title, so please allow me to clarify.
Since Threadless has run official contests for the Muppets, Adventure Time and other fun intellectual properties over in the Atrium—does that mean that the copyright policies are a little more relaxed here on the threadless side? Example: if I were to make a Muppet-ish design that would normally be rejected because it merely skirts the copyright, would it be okay now? A prime example would be A Crazy Night where a very Kermit like design was changed to a non-descript muppet. Now that Threadless and the Muppets have partnered, would that design have been changed?
Replace movie, video game or album cover copy with (the dreaded) Comic Sans... GO!
![]() Comic Sans: THE TUMBLR! is now taking submissions as well! Nuts, someone made a more popular blog with a comic sans theme. Oh well, this project died a couple months ago anyway. http://comicsansproject.tumblr.com/
I recently worked for free on a non-profit poster for an event. The contact wanted to parlay that into some ad work for me for his salons, as he is aware I'm looking for work and doing freelance work.
I quoted him a fair hourly and quoted WAY under the expected hours. He said he didn't have that kind of budget for this project. I'm guessing that was an opening for me to lower an already emaciated price, so instead I countered with the idea if setting up a branded template that I could update (within reason) in the future at a reduced hourly rate; therefore extending the life/budget of the single project. Sticking firm to my initial quote. He countered with this quote, "Let me know if you ever have some slow times and maybe we could work together on something." which my oversensitive artist brain is interpreting as "If you get desperate enough to ask for less (which I know you are, since you're unemployed) then we can talk." To remain civil and not react like an idiot, I replied asking "Feel free to let me know your budget, I'm more than willing to let you know how much work i am willing to do with your budget, or wether I'll have to pass on the project." All I really want to do is call up his salon and ask how much a hair coloring costs, then say, "that's more than I'm willing to spend. Let me know when business slows down and your willing to color my hair for less, as u don't feel the work you do is worth your asking price." But I'm sure I'm just overreacting. :p I can't wait till I get another job and I can put this freelance bs away for good :/
I have submitted 2 designs to the Threadless Loves Horror III comp. so far, and only have 1 submission left.
I have 2 ideas, and I wanted to get some opinions on which one is better for the theme. #1: "ghostriderbusters." ![]() #2: and unfinished design, "manic melody." ![]() ![]() (for those who don't read sheet music, it's the theme from Halloween. What think you?! |
