The company I work for is about to move to a new (more spacious) location, and I'd like to buy an office warming gift for everyone.

I am looking for a book, from the 80's, maybe 70's, that details and shows examples of ad agencies work and workflow.

Part of this is for the nostalgia of design pre-computer for my boss' sake (that was his own gig before he started his own company).

you might like a neville brody design book. He did a lotta eighties stuff.

that's cool stuff!

I was hoping to get something that encompassed the 80's design culture as a whole though.

i'd maybe check ebay for old design magazines. Design week might be a good one to look for

damn, I found a great back up gift while searching for 1980's design mags, but I haven't found any magazines dedicated to design from the 80's. :(

pick up some graphis magazines from the 80s. I think they're just what you're looking for.

Is "graphis" a misspelling or is that the name of the publication?

Ooh, it's the name! Thanks!

Wow, those are costly, must be a great mag!

Any other options, I'd like to have a couple to spread across a coffee table without spending $75

I ended up buying a lot of Hit Parader mags from the 80's. Bon Jovi and White Snake can keep my coworkers company.
