Can someone with Safari do me a favor?

I recently updated my webpage to show a gif behind the flash so people aren't staring at a blank screen while waiting for the flash to get to the loading screen.

Now, in Safari, I get that background table image (an orange square with my name in it) and no flash.

I checked the activity, and it's not even attempting to read any flash.

I viewed the source code, and the flash is right there ready to be embedded, I cleared the cache and that didn't help, and I checked it in firefox and all's well.

So if you could please go to:

and let me know if you have the same problems with Safari, (an internet explorer user would be a big help as well)

sometimes, I've noticed that safari will load a flash thing waaaaay slowly

like a minute after the site is "supposedly" loaded

that's the case here.. I get blank white for awhile and then there's magically a site.

Now I have become even more perplexed.

I'm still staring at the thing in another window waiting for the flash.

Safari is goofy.

your flash is not embedded correctly though.

you are missing the java script code and js. file that you need to read flash files with in internet explorer and netscape.

Oops!

I've never heard of that, where can I find that code?

And it's worth mentioning, this site has worked in Safari for months now, today, I set a parameter to wmode=transparent so you could see that table graphic behind before the flash pops up.

Something tells me Safari suddenly doesn't like that parameter.

I've got the latest version of safari 3.04

well your flash loads for me. so im not sure, but here look at the source code for this site. Use that as a temp if you want, just replace the names sizes colors etc.

site with flash

you will need this too. .js file

copy and paste that into a plain text doc and save it as swfobject.js

and upload it to the same directory that the flash file is in.

I need to start testing sites on another computer, I've got explorer for mac, but it seems to adjust better than the pc version (go figure)

that site works in firefox. So I'm certain now that it's just Safari screwing up.

Thanks for the tip on fixing the embed for IE and Netscape.

I have no problems with it. my client is on a PC, and I just spoke with her today, so Im not sure what you are seeing, or not seeing or why. Im using safari 3.1.1

It seems to only be 3.0.4, I reported the problem to safari.

well, I just updated to 3.1.1, restarted and the same crap, different pile. No swf showing up on any page's activity.

I'm gonna check my settings, maybe my browser is arbitrarily blocking flash.

HAH!

Enable pluf-ins was set to off...

I don't know why or when or why it matters if that plug-in is already cached...

but it works!

and dammit, I forgot to upload the new html with the wmode parameter set.
