thursday night denise and i went to bloomington to see An Angle, Push To Talk, Controlling the famous, and From The Tops Of Trees. It was a 3 hour drive and we didn't leave till like 3:15. we ended up getting there at around 6:15 (after we got lost in "children of the corn" with a "rape barn"). we had driven too far, but the people at Coffee Nation helped us get back to the right place. we came in and sat down and played mini uno for a little bit. the guy that put the show together came over and talked to us for a little bit. he was really nice. i had talked to matt the night before and he said that they might do a second show on friday night. after a little while, matt came in and talked to denise and i. kris came in next and then trevor. we talked to everyone about all sorts of stuff. we went outside for a little bit and ran into this really pretty girl. she talked to us for a bit. we ran into this other really weird guy that just shook our hands and mumbled something and walked away. we went back inside and payed for the show. a lot more people showed up than i thought would. everyone seemed to be there for push to talk. FTTOT was really good. he did a cover of elliot smith. he was really nice. denise bought a shirt from him. it's pretty funny. PTT played next and they were amazing. i had talked to the drummer for awhile. they were all really nice. and their music is written really really well. AA came on next and a lot of people cleared the room and went outside. we moved to the front and watched the show. i took some pictures and used denise's card so that i could fit more pictures. he played so many good songs. he even danced a little. the drummer from PTT played some keys. matt and trevor were crazy like always. trevor was wearing his signature low-cut, v-neck t-shirt. after the show we stood in the back and talked to kris. i took over at the merch table for a while. we talked to that really pretty girl from before. she asked for my myspace and i gave it to her. she had to leave. we stayed and hung out. i didn't really like CTF. they had a few good songs, but none that really stuck out.
after the show was over...we talked to matt and kris and the keyboardist from PTT. they all drank a little. we couldn't cause we had to be home at 6:30 am because i had to work. i was gonna call in sick so we could stay longer, but denise had to be home at 10 anyways. and friday was payday! the guy that put the show together told us that he could find us somewhere to stay for the night (maybe even with an angle in their hotel room). it was a killer offer and it hurt to turn it down. i'm sure there will be other chances just like this one. we have done so much stuff with them in the past few years. well, we said our goodbyes and headed out. kris and trevor said that they wanted to put us in their top 8 on myspace (which already happened). i got a little excited inside but didn't show it. i hugged kris goodbye. he always gives the best hugs. we walked around the building and said bye to matt. he was on the phone so he couldn't talk long. we got in the car and headed home. i started to get sleepy like 45 minutes into driving. we stopped at the only available resteraunt....mcdonald's. it was gross, but i needed caffeine and i was hungry from not eating hardly anything that day. i got a snack wrap and a 74 cent hugo coke. i drove for another hour or so. then i started to get really sleepy so i had denise drive for awhile. we got to flying J's and i drove the rest of the way home. we came in and crashed. me on my bed and denise on the floor. i know that i should have given her the bed, but i had to work an hour or so later. i told her she could have it when i got up. as soon as i fell asleep, it felt like i had to wake up again. i took a shower and left for work. work sucked, but it ended up raining so we didn't go to the park. we watched the new charlie and the chocolate factory instead. there were donuts because it was friday. i got excited and ate like 3. and then i got my paycheck, which was a lot. all of this still doesn't seem worth missing that second show. but i can't take it back now.
