  • Hey everyone, we're looking into this. Thanks for the heads up.

I think rather than delete all the spam, they might be looking to close the door to it first. It's been pretty relentless so when it stops, at least they'll know they've fixed it.

Totally right, we're looking at how to stop this at the source, no one wants to spend their day deleting spam, much nicer when there just is no spam. Unless it is on toast.

  • Agree with what people have already said, Cargo Collective is a good resource. So is Squarespace the benefit to these is they can handle all your hosting for you. So while Squarespace is a paid service (so is Cargo Collective if you choose) you don't have to worry about as many moving pieces.

Wordpress is a good solution but you'll need to be pretty diligent about keeping up on the security updates, otherwise your site will be at risk.

  • Hey James: It hasn't been removed--we're working on making it even better and it will be back soon. If you or anyone else has ideas on what you would like to see or something you think would be helpful to the critique process please let us know.

  • Hey everyone a couple quick things I wanted to chime in based on what you all are talking about:

Manu is on the right track regarding "plugins" Facebook, Twitter, and a small group of others are 3rd party add ons, usually javascript, that are loaded onto the pages. These are pretty much here to stay since they add features or integration people can't provide on their own.

The second group of plugins, those used to add interaction or additional functionality to the site are a thing we have more control over, and will be optimizing to make leaner and faster. We have already implemented an asset pipeline to help delivery faster CSS and Javascript on the page. This is a starting point that will give us a really strong foundation to build upon. We'll be working to decrease the number of calls we have to make and making those calls that we do make more responsive.

We are working on the scoring bugs that are being commented on, these should start to fade away quickly. Again, if you run into a problem the feedback button on the right is a really good way to report these problems (it passes us some other information that helps to diagnose the problem).

Also I am sure most of you have seen this but Jake created a very excellent changelog to help keep the community up-to-date on what is coming out. We are committing code and pushing updates several times a day so there is a lot going on to address the issues being reported.

    Awesome!
