For me the cry for revolution has meant trying to translate the style I normally reserve for my traditional media (ink, charcoal, oils) into the digital realm. While I am not 100% certain that I can consider it a success, I did enjoy the attempt at expanding my digital horizons.

Would be cool for a shirt, but I'd like to see a lot cleaner rendition of it. Whenever I see choppy vectors, I know that the trace function was used, and that takes away from my appreciation of the design. If I were you, I'd go over the design in a new layer and manually trace the colors. It'll look a lot, LOT better. Oh, and no need the heart outline, ok? ;)

It doesn't look like the heart thingy is on the shirt.

the heart isn't actually on the shirt... just on the preview

Your going to need to check the colors. That's definately more than four.

It would look better with smoother vectors, like gameyy said. Right now, it's a nice pic but looks like it's just been filtered in photoshop.

It looks like four to me.

Yeah, I think it's four too-3 browns and a reddish brown. Oh yeah, forgot to say that I like the title, too. It's a good song.

i like it on brown and dark blue.
the girls eyes pop really well, the guy almost looks too blank in comparison (shading and detail wise)- but i know that's how the cutout filter tends to be.
are these actors, friends or what?

its my fiance and myself...

the picture itself is from a photo we took in NYC last year (when I had big hair). I did a charcoal of it a while back, and thats what I used to make the image.

The process was essentially Photoshop filtering it down to about seven distinct colors. From there I decided which colors to combine and traced each color onto a seperate layer. I smoothed out everything I was willing to smooth out. The chin and hair I decided to leave rough to keep the texture of my hair and scraggly goatee. Her hood has been kept rough to represent the faux fur on her jacket.

I removed the heart for you all... I just had it in there to hint at why the composition is a little top heavy.

More comments are definately welcomed.

I quite like it, but if it were printed I'm not sure that I'd want to wear a big, clear picture of two random people (not to call you random, of course, but the clarity makes it almost like wearing someone else's photo shirt)

I don't mind the rough hair and chin, but I think you should make the lights smoother, and maybe simplify the lines in the guy's (your) shirt.
I like most of your color choices except those on the red shirt... they look a little like zombies in that one :-)

upon further review, i have decided to eliminate myself from the design and try to do something a little more creative with it. i don't really like how i turned out (nor does my fiance for that matter). i'll get back to you.

My designs

All about me
I'm a pretty normal guy, really. I work as a web designer, though I plan on going back to college next fall. I'm engaged to an amazing girl. I read comic books and play with little plastic star wars toys. All in all, very normal.

So that everyone is aware, any shirt that is even a little bit vectory or cartoony is meant as a joke. That's really not my style, and these designs are generally just done to keep my from going insane during board meetings.
