Yeah, I know it's mostly my fault, and I know there were all sorts of good reasons for the staggard releases, but I found this sale to be a lot less enjoyable than the standard "$10 for X amount of time" sale. First, I've been told that somehow shipping to me in Georgia is either more than or not a lot less than shipping to some people in England, which is kind of ridiculous, if accurate. This only furthered my disdain for ordering small batches of shirts. So when they released some shirts I wanted early on, I put them in my cart and waited. Slowly a handful more I wanted appeard, and they were carted as well. Now, Threadless has added a nice feature to warn you when stock of something in your cart is getting low. I got a few of those. Each time I thought, "Well, either they'll hold out or they won't. No sense rushing for one shirt I don't really want that bad." I actually got the warning a couple of times for some shirts, as I think they stumbled upon a few missing pieces. This encouraged me to wait.

Now we get to yesterday, the supposedly penultimate day of shirt releasing. Out of 12 shirts in the cart, we've lost 4 for sure. Acceptable attrition. Surely the last day will be replete with radiant releases to compensate my losses?

Nope. In fact, not only are there no new shirts, I lose another third of my cart (only one of which I heard about through email).

And to think if I'd've just given up I could've gotten most of what I wanted at the halfway mark. *sigh*

Okay, end of my whine (whinge?). You can go back to your regularly scheduled art theft and STP query blogs. :)

(Incidentally, Threadless has apparently removed the ability to use divs or spans in blogs, which pisses me right off, because I like using tooltips, dammit.)

At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot (which is not entirely true) how do you sign up to be notified if the stock of something in your cart is getting low?

Yes, the very same. I am greatly saddened.

And yeah SOAE, unless you're one of these impulse buyers, if you go ahead and add something to your cart, if it gets below 15ish in stock they'll email you.

same thing happened to me. i had Tiagram and some others in my cart, but I was waiting for later in the sale to save on shipping. I missed my chance on that one and something else.

O_o

If you'd read the Thirtieth Day thread by Threadless, you would've noticed they said "And even though we've released tomorrow's shirts a day early", which pretty much means "Hey morons, the new shirts for tomorrow? They happened today. That's why there were like ten. Duh."

I do not deny culpability in this matter Nodus. I'm not as active as I used to be, and that, amongst many other factors, contributed to my eventual disappointment.

But honestly, I didn't notice how many there were, because frankly they were crap, like the day before. :)

I know rholliday. I missed out on a couple of shirts that I really wanted (including a hoodie) because I held back from ordering mid-sale as I waiting expecting to see shirts I wanted. I'm glad I did one order at the beginning of the sale so at least I have 2 shirts I really wanted that are now gone.

its gonna be a while before im used to seeing tees for $15 again...
loserbeech
loserbeech on Dec 12 '06 at 6:49pm
The $10 price wasn't even the part that interestied me, $17 is well cheap anyway. If good tees had have come out I would have bought them for full price. It was just disappointing that tees came out every day yet only two days even barely tickled my fancy.

i thought the "big sale" was a tad underwhelming,

that said i did manage to order 11 shirts over the span of the sale, 7 of which were new designs released during the sale.

i agree, the shipping costs are an issue when ordering in small batches, especially when what you are charged is higher than what appears on the actual parcel, but if i have learned anything in the time that i've been buying tees here, there is no such thing as waiting...

Yeah, I wasn't very impressed with the selection. I acquired about a dozen I would buy, half of which I was really interested in. Sadly that was the half that vanished. :(

loserbeech

I only bought four , and only two of them were new releases. There were no others that I wanted at all. I would buy more than that in the course of a normal month.
