The constantly changing photo rules are really starting to piss me off.

I don't have a camera of my own, so i started taking pics from my cell .. i got pics in 6 shirts before i figured out how to copy the photos off of my cell, and when I did I discovered the new "3/4 of your face must be in the pic" rules.

Okay, fine ... 5 of those pics are no good I guess because they only had up to my nose (since the phone camera is so crappy and i'm holding it 2 feet from my body)

No biggee ... I'll started taking the pics in portrait mode figuring I'd submit them using the smaller size since it's taller then it is wide ... so I do that for a few weeks, crop them up all nice and good, and today when I go to upload them, the option for uploading small pics is gone ... not even a note explaining what happend.

Seriously anoying ... since they're portrait mode, I can't resize them to 380x272 without doing some serious cropping ... and unless I crop out the shirt so you can't even tell what I'm wearing, that least croping out my face ... hey look we're right back at problem#1!!!!

You're right. Maybe they should just stop giving us free stuff, that'd solve all of these problems.

Actually both reasons were explained, but there was a blog problem and some of them got erased.

1. 3/4 face showing. Shimala has to look through all the pictures and verify you aren't submitting multiple pictures on different accounts and cheating them. This help him do that quicker.

2. Big pictures only, the new threadless website only supports these types of pictures.

Also, to agree with loserbeech, no reason to really complain about since they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and don't have to do it.

actually, they do do this for a reason other than the goodness of their hearts. people would like to see how the shirts look on someone before buying it, and sometimes the main photos aren't enough. use your brain.

Umm..I'm gonna disagree they don't have to do it. They don't have to give you 1.50 store credit for submitting a photo. They could say hey screw you submit a picture if you want too if not oh well. Use our pictures. They give you store credit and the ability to post your pictures out of the goodness of their heart. They could do away with it. Use your brain.

okay, who is going to freaking submit a picture of them wearing a shirt for nothing? oh yeah, no one. no matter how much you want to argue with it if they didn't give credit they might as well take the submitting a product photo feature down because no one will be using it. and the product pictures do help, a lot. sometimes the pictures that threadless has isn't enough. shut up and stop acting like what you're saying is right.

Numbb, if they were doing it just for that reason they'd offer $1.50 to the first, say, ten people who submitted. They don't need a hundred pictures of each shirt.

"shut up and stop acting like what you're saying is right."

OMG...that just about slayed me silly...

I never use the half-assed camera phone pictures to judge if a shirt looks good. Bottom line is they don't have to have that feature on the site, just like they don't have to have the blog feature. They choose to offer it. I'm not the one who needs to quit acting like I know what they are saying is right. Not gonna argue anymore about it.

actually the gallery pictures don't help worth shit. i don't judge if i wanna get a shirt with gallery picture. i use threadless' own pictures more. it's just a fun option to have them &it's nice to get credits for them to use towards purchasing more shirts.

"okay, who is going to freaking submit a picture of them wearing a shirt for nothing? oh yeah, no one. "

The same kind of people that want attention and like sites like "hot or not"

Trust me they wouldn't have any problem.

Whoa ... i didn't expect to start a holy war.

I do appreciate the store credit, i know they don't have to do that (I agree .. there are plenty of people out there who would be happy to submit photos for free)

the 3/4 thing made total sense ... as for the no small photo's thing ... maybe there was something in the site News blog ... i didn't see it, and even the rejection email you get if your photo isn't accepted still talks about it. If the site design is changing so they won't be arround anymore that's cool, I just wish i knew before i wasted all that time editing the photos...

Anyway ... I didn't mean to complain in a "the world is unfair people who give me discounts for taking photo's should rot in hell" kind of way, i mainly just wanted to vent about the fact that i've taken pictures of myself in the same 4 shirts twice now and i still can't get credit for them ... i just hope the rules don't change *AGAIN* before i have a chance to wear them and take yet another photo.

My Snack photo was accepted even though you can barely see the shirt -- meanwhile a photo where you can see both my face and my E=MC Escher shirt in their entireties was rejected .. probably because i had to take it at a 45 degree angle to fit everything in. alas.
