How do you know how big 13x13 inches is on the shirt? I downloaded the template and sized it up to 150 dpi and then made another 150dpi file 13x13 and pasted it into the template and it was too big.... so how are you supposed to tell how big a 13x13 square will be on the shirt?

hello,

wouldnt they just scale your design down to fit onto the shirt in the end anyways? so it ensures it fits on the printable area.

with vectors it shouldnt be a problem, but if you are werking with raster images, best to design big and in high res.

This is what it says in the rules:

Design Dimensions & Placement:

The design must be within a 13 x 13 inch area and may not extend over shirt seams.

Guy's large shirt is 22" wide by 28" tall.

So don't go more than 50% or so of the total area on the template. The thing you actually submit is just for show anyway...if you need it bigger for detail or whatever, it doesnt much matter. (though you may want to note that it would be smaller on the shirt).

As for the design itself, I'm sure there is a way to set the units from px to inches...just do that and it should be easy to make sure it's the right size...

I think what you want is Threadless's Sizechart. I'm under the impression that the 13x13 limit is based on their printer or whatever they use to make their shirts. Your 13x13 image will have to fit all the different shirt sizes; I doubt they make a new print for each size.
