feel better, my wrists are slowly grinding away, and I wont be able to draw eventually at all, no matter what
NiceAlex
NiceAlex on Dec 30 '06 at 12:33am
Well, that's good.

But I guess that means you don't get to wear one of these stylish wrist braces.

You could learn to draw with your mouth!

In all seriousness, though, that's awful, Ste7en. I'm really sorry :/

its all good, I can deal...thats why all i do is draw, because other things grind on the bone too, so I might as well waste my wrists on drawing instead of other boring crap
margolove
margolove on Dec 30 '06 at 12:44am
why exactly are they grinding away?
sonmi

have you been diagnosed with it? i thought i was getting some extreme symptoms of it once, but it ended up going away after i eased off my wrist for a while.

margolove on Dec 30 '06 at 12:46am
yeah, sonmi, same here. Just giving it a rest for awhile really helped.

Ste7en: there's no way to stop the degredation?

sonmi: yeah, almost a year ago. it's just gotten worse lately, for whatever reason.

well carpal tunnel is reversible, its just the muscle growing too large for the band around your wrist, so the nerves punch, if you lay off your wrist and do stretched the muscle will relax

   Ste7en on Dec 30 '06 at 12:49am
nice alex: no theres no way to stop it except sticking a pin in there, but that would cause constant discomfort for the rest of my life

I have something pretty similar. It has velcro instead of those fancy elastic bands, though.

Something to look into: Peripheral Neuropathy is often misdiagnosed as carpel tunnel. The symptoms are similar. P. Neuropathy is the wearing away of the sheath surrounding the nerves, leaving the nerve exposed. It often happens in the hands. There is a test that a specialist can perform that confirms it is Neuropathy, not carpel tunnel. That test is the only way to tell the difference. Alex &Ste7en,PLEASE look into this, since the treatments for the two conditions are different.
