So I'm interested in taking a computer design class.... I have Adobe Illustrator 9.0 but I'm lousy at using it and I figured a class would help me to learn the ins and outs of the program.

The classes I have to choose from are titled:
1. Adobe Pagemaker
2. Using Photoshop Elements
3. Photoshop Elements 3.0 Comprehensive

I guess the latter two wouldnt be that helpful since I don't have photoshop but I have pagemaker so... would it be worthwhile to just take that? Is any of the knowledge transferable between illustrator and pagemaker? Or should I just keep looking for a class that teaches illustrator?

.... what does the threadless collective think?

I'd look into professional seminars/classes at someplace like Padgett-Thompson or your local Community College. They should have a design basics class for illustrator. Most universities also offer quick overview classes of common software.

Otherwise, check out a Dummies or similar guidebook and go trhough all the exercises, it should help.

Thanks. The classes i mentioned are offered at my local community college, but it doesn't look like they cover illustrator.

all of those are worthless, no offense. If you want to learn how to design websites goto www.w3schools.com and other internet sites.
