People are just too picky and overly analytical. I personally liked this design when it was being scored, and think it turned out great on the printed shirt.

:( sorry about that! people are just so damn stupid.. i never thought this was racist at all. It's thoughts like those that just complicates things and causes unnecessary problems later. :/

well, i actually thought it's just another color .. i never put any thought to it as an ACTUAL skin tone these are just CHARACTERS for goodness sakes..

although im not trying to be nitpicky, but if you were trying to make it look "further".. shouldnt it be a lighter blue? @_@ that woulda looked more like that to me. :P

but anyway, im one of those people that scored this very high and i dont CARE about those things and im sure a lotta people dont too :) so dont worry~ i really really DO love this design! :) be happy!~

Thanks, glad you like it... valor and vellum.

Yes Ueno, the original submission is lighter blue, but maybe it's looks white in the photos, or something. Thanks for your support when it's the submission on the running!

Congrats, bro!

Where is the racist issue of this design?
Just dark and bright color on the character. They represent the evil and goodness characters in our self.

They'll get over it. I think it's a great shirt.

I have no problem with it- I just have no Idea what it means/represents. Maybe I am just stupid. Can someone explain?

I love it... I just wish they showed what the girly shirt looked like too. Why did they print it on a different color?

hey ya'll, even if there was no racist intention behind the artist in making design, it's real easy to see how it could be interpreted that way. Dark creatures hanging and being run over by white creatures...smacks of United States history in the not so distant past. Though I think this shirt is super cute in other ways I would never wear it because of the possibility of appearing to support that kind of racist past.

Peace

I was only joking when I brought up the racism. But that's because I'm a bit of an antagonist. Don't feel like I was picking on you. :-) I really do love the bears.

Hahaha... yeah silly people will call anything racist. If this had anything to do with lynching, the rope/chain would be ABOVE his shoulders.

Some people see "racism" everywhere... it'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

When I saw it automatically thought it was one of those toy machines where the crane comes down and tries to grab one of the bears. Was that not the intention?

I thought the guy in the chains was just a white dude dressed in ninja trying to save the teddies Mission Impossible style. Guess I was Waay off!

I thought they were teeth and the one being pulled was rotten. I tried to explain away the teddy bears as really large hunks of plaque but that felt a little awkward... Glad to know I was wrong.

oh good...i'm so glad that the shirt was not meant to be racist. when i saw this shirt, i thought it was SOOO cute but i looked at the blogs and realized that those people might have been right. i wanted to buy the shirt but i was afraid people were going to say i'm a racist or something. well now that you said that the shirt was NOT meant to be racist, i'll feel more comfortable if i decide to buy it :)

It is a cute shirt, but totally see where people could view racism... Due to my families African background, the first thing I saw and thought was about KKK... Sorry... Too sensitive I know... But that's just what came to mind.

I love this shirt. I didn't see it as racist. I still don't understand it. I just thought it was adorable. Btw,

"hey ya'll, ..smacks of United States history in the not so distant past... I would never wear it because of the possibility of appearing to support that kind of racist past."

The "ya'll" automatically made me slap the label of southerner on you which ultimately means you are afraid to wear the shirt because you think you will get the s**t beaten out of you for it. You should really come to present times and get over your "not-so-distant" race issue. =] It makes you look close-minded.

I absolutely adore this shirt and they need to re-print it in my size!
