Ok so I'm in a tough bind... I've been unemployed for 2 years (mostly with very little freelance in between).

I finally got a job offer... but they're offering me the bottom of the range they gave me when I first interviewed with them. They're also doing relocation "reimbursement" which isn't great. I'd much rather have a lump sum up front to spend on moving. Mostly as I don't know how long it would take my boyfriend to get a transfer and well I won't be moving anything till that happens. Until them I'd just move up alone and sublease someplalce.

Can I negotiate? I'm bummed that they "loved" me so much but are only offering the very bottom of the range they gave me.

And I'm totally not sure what to do about the relocation reimbursement stuff too.. even if I did accept it after 2 yrs of unemployment I have no savings or credit that I can use to put up front the moving costs for them to reimburse me later.

Ok well with my upcoming trip up Washington state I'm thinking about the fact that because I've lived in LA so long I don't own any hats, scarves, or gloves. Now it's not supposed to be really icy cold while I'm there but damn if thats not cold for someone who's become accustomed to the LA warmth.

Anyways show me your favorite hats (preferably knitted girly ones) scarves and gloves. I might splurge since I really don't want to walk into my interview shivvering.

UPDATE:
Date is set for November 2nd between 11:30 and 3:30... but the last flight out of seattle that day back to LA is pretty early at 6:30pm. Any chance someone up there would be willing to let me couch crash for the night and maybe drop me off at the airport in the morning?

I had 2 great phone interviews with a company based in the Seattle / Bellevue area and they want to bring me up for the day to meet with them the week of Nov 2nd. They haven't confirmed the exact day yet but I'm still totally excited! I wonder if during that "day" I'll have time to be able to squeeze in a meeting with the seattle threadless clan?

Ok so just curious who's up in that area?

I'm doing a second phone interview with a company up there and am considering the pros and cons of relocating up to the Bellevue area IF offered the job.

I'm nervous because I've moved from NJ to NYC, NYC to San Francisco, San Francisco to LA, and from the east side of LA to the west side of LA in the span of only 6 years.... and I really really hate moving.

Anyways... theres no real offer yet. Just phone interview #2 with the Head of the Design Department. But I figured I'd test out the waters to determine how excited I should be about an offer should it come my way. Mostly because IF I get the offer and IF I take the job I would likely need to find a room mate since my boyfriend wouldn't be able to join me up there for months until a transfer goes through.

Lol... and anyone know if I could get away with riding my vespa up there? hehe I'd probably have to get like waterproof snowboard gear or something :P

Just curious. Is it too late to put in a sub with a halloween theme? I know it's almost Oct. so I thought I'd ask. I'm not sure if all the halloween prints for this year have been picked already...

K... well my boyfriend & I are going to go see a movie tonight and I'm not sure what's out that's worth seeing. Usually we go to see something that we've been "waiting" for but this time we just wanna relax in a nice air conditioned theater for a couple of hours.

Is there anything out worth seeing? I'm going to check rottentomatoes right now

lol.. I'm a designer and a seamstress not a web person. All this FTP and joomla shit is confusing and I'm so frustrated. I have someone helping me via messenger but I'm going to go bonkers if I have to suffer through the building of the whole site.

I wish I could find someone to do it for me that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if I had someone in person to sit next to me and explain what I'm looking at but it's so hard when you're just talking to someone over messenger.

Well it's been 587 days or 1 year 7 months since I was let go from my job because the company was having financial difficulities.

Anyone have need of an Accessory Designer? lol.. I'm having a bit of depression mixed with anxiety this morning. I need cheerful things or maybe even a job?

Hehe that can't be too much to hope for huh?? I'm smart and graphically talented and cute (least thats what I've been told ;) lol) And my 29th b-day is coming up in about 2 1/2 weeks and I can't stand the thought of spending another b-day unemployed worrying about my future.

I went into my recent order and clicked on a shirt to upload a product shot and when I go to confirm the pic I get a message that threadless can't find my order and asks me to put in the order # zip and email which I do and it still doesn't work.

Is this just me? Is this a new bug? Or can I not upload product shots purchased with a GC?

It's not so much about the stps really... just that I really really like having all my shirts in my gallery :(

Ok well over the last year I've been working on losing the weight I had gained since moving to the west coast (along with the extra I gained from depression eating after being laid off)

So... I'm down 30lbs and onto my final 10. Anyone else wanna work off these last 10 lbs with me? :)

I'm going to walking each night and adding in a hike or two when I can find a nearby partner to go with. I'm also going to be going into serious calorie counting mode hehe.

But like doing this with others ought to be fun cause then we can complain and bitch together and share success together.
