Well I don't know if this blog will get your attention or not but since you're the resident hula hooping expert around here I'd love your opinion before I go and buy something online that I might not like or is a terrible brand or quality etc.?

heheh I'd sort of given up on this catching her attention. I don't think she's here much. :/

If I don't get a reply by like Saturday I'm just going to order one on amazon and hope that's not a piece of crap.

helloo!

what kind of stuff are looking to do with the hoop, working out and stuff?

i'd probably not buy off of amazon. i'd get a custom one from someone off of etsy or i could even make you a hoop. or my friend has a site.

either way. I was thinking about working out with it at first. Get the basics down before I delve into the tricky stuff ;)

I checked etsy but couldn't figure out what would work. There just seemed like almost too many choices. Weighted hoops, regular ones, collapsible ones, big ones... little ones... lol!!

I'd be fine ordering a custom one... I just didn't want to spend more than like $50 until I've tried it a bit and know if this is something I like and will stick with or not.

well, you'll probably have to get a collapsible one because that's the way they can be mailed to you.

how tall are you? the best way to measure a good starting size is to measure from the ground to your belly button, maybe an inch below...for me my first hoop was 36 or 37 inches in diameter, and i think that its a good all around hoop, its good for learning tricks and is heavier, but i still use it though im more advanced.

here's the link to my friend lindsay's etsy. she made me a few hoops and they're really nice. less than 30 too for some.

hoops!'

or you could make your own! that's the cheapest option really.

if you were to want to order from her, i'd recommend the custom hoop, figure 8 collapsible. and i'd do the 3/4 inch 100 psi stuff.

I had no idea hula hoops were so complicated.

Yeah I'll take a look at her site. I just don't have the time to start another project like making my own hoop. ;) lol
Thanks for the recommendations btw. I just did the measurement and got 42" ground to belly button. Hehe I feel ridiculously tall now.

I still may order one from your friend but for now I landed a groupon from hoopnotica for a 42" travel hoop with like how to videos and stuff for like $29

I'm excited. They're pretty close in Venice, CA so I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long for shipping :D
