Ok so yeah... I was curious if any other girls had issues with the fit of the girly tank tops?? They seems to be cut very oddly. I usually buy Girly Med tees or Lg if I want a looser fit.

So I figured I'd be safe and order a Large tank. It's easier for me to fix it if it's too loose. So I ordered one and got it in and the fit is horrible! The Large tank tops are WAAAAY shorter than the tees.... barely goes over the waist band of my jeans. This is at least 3-4" shorter than my girls large tees.

And the biggest issue is the uber high cut neck contour, poorly fit arm holes, and way too short straps!! It's totally unwearable. I'm not sure what to do with it since I will not wear it like this :/

Is anyone else having this problem? Because I swear I'm never ordering another tank from threadless if they're this poorly / unflatteringly cut. I'm curious if maybe I just got a freak 'mistake' tank with a bad cut. But right now I'm not feeling like wasting any more money ordering another, which sucks since I wear tank tops pretty much every day and was so excited about threadless printing on them.

Photo evidence of bad neckline, bad arm holes cut too close to the front of the tank which show the bra straps, and the tank top straps that look like their 3" too short ...

Hey Pry4lis! Sorry your tank isn't fitting just the way you like. We haven't heard this same thing about the tanks, but, of course, everyone is different! If you're not digging your tank, feel free to send it back. We can change it out for tee, or return it for refund or Threadless credit if you'd rather have that.

aww thanks Brianne. I'm just curious if I got an odd one.. I know it does happen. You guys can't check every shirt and tank you print on :D

It's just odd the large is fitting so much smaller than my large tees. heck, it's smaller than many of my medium tees. lol

I love tank tops and wear them all the time so I'd hate to just give up. If I sent it back could someone check it against another large tank to see if it's the same?

Have you tried layering with another tank?

I mean, it sounds like length isn't really the only issue you're having with the fit so it probably won't really help, but it is a cool way to add a little extra length to a top if you need it.

pyr4lis on Jun 30 '11 at 11:41am
yeah i do that with some of my tshirts..

the biggest issue is the straps being too short for me. because they're so short it pulls the tank way up on my torso so it sits weirdly high above my chest. the straps are also not wide enough as they don't cover my bra straps.

I had a photo but deleted it from my flickr cause I thought this thread was dead.

i ordered several tanks and i didn't have any problem.. the length is also fine for me.. i ordered one select long tank which also fits more or less fine, but it's a little loose, so it would be better layered (which they mention in the product description), but i still wear it like this :)

no problems with boob size here either :)

i have to opposite problem, the boat neck tees, they are too loose because i have no boobs :D but i love them anyway

It is possible you are too busty for the tanks. T-shirts are more forgiving of various chest sizes. With a tank it is gonna be obvious because of the arm holes. The pic doesn't look THAT bad... maybe a different bra would help.... but I'm a clueless guy, so take the tee exchange?

*shakes fist at the sky* curse my too big boobs! I love tank tops :P

I guess I'll be stuck with a tee exchange. maybe I'll try the select tank tops when they print one of the longer fit ones up that I like. I don't like those swingy loose fit ones.. they look like maternity shirts

i have a select racerback tank and i think the fit will be even worse for you, but that's just based on the pic you've posted here. I wouldn't know for sure.

this isnt about tanks, but i think i have had two or three shirts fit well, every other tee i get (i get L's) is way too wide and shrinks a lot, and since i cant sew i have to take them to get altered, which isnt too much of an inconvenience since the tees arent that expensive but i just wish threadless would get better tees to print on, or go back to AA or something.
i know america is a pretty fat country, but come on threadless

you should try a boat tee, i hate them. i bought one and i should have sent it back but i tried to shrink it in the wash instead. it didn't work. my product shot is deceptive--there's a shit ton of material all bunched up and clipped in the back. i never wear it.

the point is, you have boobs and boat tees would fit you nicely :)

@pyr4lis If you decide to send it back, we can totally compare it to other tanks to make sure the sizing isn't off. From the pic & what you're saying, it seems like a right sized tank. They can fit a little slimmer than our girly tees for ladies who have more goodness on top. Some girls may want to go up a size, but you can still find some gapping around the arms. We're all a little different! I totally agree @SJ27 layering comment (my go-to trick) & trying a different bra may be just the thing too.

I hate when the shirts are as wide as they are long. In Threadless shirts, Medium is too snug and short. Large is too loose but seems to be the same length as the medium.

that might be my issue. i was expecting a cut more like the majority of the other tanks I've bought. a bit lower cut in the front etc. I figured i'd need to size up which is why I bought the large. Oh well :) such is life.

does it matter if I dont have my return label?

solve at least part of the problem by not wearing a bra?

That's ok if you don't have a return form. You can get one here: http://www.threadless.com/service/returnpolicy.pdf

As for an entire powersuit of bras, not sure where you can find one of those.

Hi Lori! (I love your name btw!)
I also own a threadless tank top (size S) and agree with your review for the most part. Mine also has poorly fit arm holes, that are cut too close to the front of the tank and show the bra. This is really annoying!
I don't mind the higher neck line, it makes me feel secure - if the neckline is too low I often feel self-conscious (constantly pulling the garment just a bit higher).
I kept my tank, but only because I totally LOVE the print and don't want to fuss about returning it. (I will figure out how to wear it later).
Did you end up returning it? Let us know! :)
