Ok well I was doing laundry tonight and I sent my Monster Wash tee through the machine and when it came out the grey background was all pilled & the black monsters had this grey fuzz showing through them.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? I have it hanging up to dry now... and it makes me worried looking at it. I really love this shirt but I don't think I'd wear it again and that's making me really sad :(

*edit*
oh and I washed it inside out so the design wouldn't even rub up against the other laundry ...

You should never WASH the Monster WASH :)

Return it for an exchange.

Ah ok... I remember last time I emailed them about an exchange they said that the shirt had to be unworn & unwashed. I'll try again.

what do you mean grey background was all pilled?

i've had one of my shirts (f451) lose some of the purple ink in spots, but this seemed to be common for a lot of people who owned this tee.

Also, some of the ink on my other shirts wears down quickly (usually after one wash) and the shirt color shows through if you look closely. Is that what happened to your tee?

I think it's peeled.

haha, the fuzzy-looking monsters became actually, phsysically fuzzy. i like that.

anyway, it's fairly common for the fabric to "fuzz through" a little with screen prints, especially when certain types of inks are used. on lighter shirts like these Natural ones, they can get away with using softer inks. on a darker shirt they'd have to use thicker, plasticy inks to hide the shirt color, but on lighter shirts like this they can use thinner inks which makes it easier for the fabric to wear through the ink a little and become a little bit fuzzy. if you mean DRASTIC, noticeable-at-a-distance fuzziness, then yeah, that's probably something defective, but just a little fuzziness through the ink probably isn't all that weird.

my biblical distaster animals are a bit fuzzy (just little fuzzes poking through for me to notice). Its only the animals, because it the first layer (and thinner).
on the plus side it is soft :)

did you cold wash it? I think they all say cold wash. Ive never had any trouble, cept for the t-shirt colour fading, which i guess is natural

That's happened to a couple of my shirts after one wash. Kind of disappointing, but it does add some character to your shirt.

yeah maybe flaking is a better term.. but the grey color is coming off in lots of tiny little spots.

as for washing I always wash my shirts in cold water on delicate with a gentle detergent. (fading and shrinking sucks) then I generally hang them up to dry and steam them to get rid of wrinkles.

I guess I'll keep it since I love the shirt (only slightly less than I love my bunnies shirt) I'm just sad that it looks 'old' already.

Hrmm... I've got a A.A. in Design & a B.A. in Fashion Design. Sucky though that with all those degrees I've only ever had to take 1 computer graphics course. But I've learned alot through working experience. Anyways I'm currently working as an Accessory Designer in LA.

I love my cat. His name is Zelazny and he's just the sweetest kitty ever! He love people... even strangers! He love taking naps where he doesn't belong and being picked up and those little kitty treats with the crunchy outside and squishy inside. He love feather sticks and little catnip mice. He does not like dogs and other cats. He is a big bully and will try to beat them up. He will also meow until you pick him up and give him attention. :D
