UPDATE July 30th

Adding Link of Tees that I have not reconstructed yet. I will be getting to them in due time though so if you want to request one custom made for you please do so quickly before I cut it up and reconstruct it however I want to. :P

Customs will be in the same price range as the others $40-50 depending on how much work and how much extra fabric I need and if I need to buy extras like buttons or ribbons etc.

Available Tee Flickr Set

UPDATE July 29th

Added Electro Love Boat Select. I really like the way this one turned out with the wide ties at the shoulders. The ties can be just knotted or tied into a bow like shown as they're not fixed. $40

Sorry for the crappy picture but this is what happens when I let the boyfriend take the pictures.. lol he didn't even wait for me to pose or smile. hehe I'm just lucky my eyes are open :P

Electro Love Boat Front

UPDATE July 26th

Just added Rollin' Hatin Select Reconstruction. This one was crazy tough since the whole back was damaged with a black grease. I reconstructed it as a deep scoop back halter top. There is a medium purple tie around the neck and a dark purple band from front to back that keeps the girls from falling out the sides ;) it can also be used to hide a bra band. I did one version of this and it didn't work so I had to pullt he whole thing apart and start again. $45

Pictures below.. I apologize for my icky sunburn lines :P

UPDATE July 23rd

Symbol or Signifier Select reconstruction. Cut off the top of the tee and added a deep purple tank style top. Added a patchwork overlay of pieces of top of the shirt that was cut off. Edges were bound with an extra strip of the purple fabric and secured with a zig-zag stitch. The design is a little off kilter and not 100% centered and the hem has a teeny irregularity where the front was only a quarter of an inch longer in the front.. I liked it so when I put the front and back together I left the irregularity in the hem. Going to have to say $45 for this one because of all the extra labor that went into it.

UPDATE July 9th
I Got Another Whale is finished and available. I cut the design out and carefully placed it ontop of a made from scratch Heather Grey tee that I made. The tee has a wide slightly scooped ballet neck. The overlay is held on with a grey zig-zag stitch along the edge done twice with a single straight black stitch along the edges of the cat and the whale where is is very unobtrusive to the design.. as you can see in the picture the stitch is hardly visable but it add extra durability and strength to the design patch. $40
Caught a whale

UPDATE July 5th
Attack of Literacy is now available! This fits much closer to a girly medium than a girly large tee (as you can see it's a bit tight on me) but it came out super cute. The straps were a pain to figure out so I have to charge a little more for this one. To be sold to Ladykat. :)

Round Two:
Not too many this time... only two so far.. I'm working on Attack of Literacy right now but it's not going to be done till probably tomorrow.

ps sorry for the crappy photos.. I had to take them myself and I accidentally had the camera on the wrong setting so the pics look kinda grainy. :/ but it's enough to get the idea across for the moment. I'll get better pics as soon as I can bribe the boyfriend to take them.

Patchwork reconstructed as a tunic / dress. It is actually long enough to be worn as a dress :) I just hate my legs so I'm wearing it as a tunic with jeans. True size large fit, although this can be easily reduced down to a medium if the buyer wants. $40
patchwork_front_model

Ci'trust me its Moving reconstructed as a cutie cross-back tank top. This one runs small much closer to a medium than a large as you can see it's really snug on me. $40
citrust_me_front_model

Ok well this is my first batch of reconstructions :) All shirts are about the equivalent of a girly large tee.

*Edit* All Designs below are now listed at www.LillianDietel.etsy.com

Serenade patched over an aeropostale tissue tee with some other bird screenprint on it. Colored thread is stitched through the design to add texture and to secure the overlay to the shirt. - Holding for miss Twiggyhall :)
serenade flat front

MP3 turned into an extra long tunic top with a ruffle on the collar and a bold white stripe around the middle. $30
MP3 flat front

Ignorance is Bliss made into a fun tanktop with added black detailing on the straps and hem. $35 (I liked this one so much I made 2 so I could keep one! hehe)
fascinant flat front

The Doomsday Select made into a ruched tank with a black ribbon made of teeshirt material that ties in the back. SOLD!

And last but not least I have Adorable Disaster made into a cute haltertop. Halter is double layered with material in the errmm chest area for more durability. $35
adorable flat front

There are more pictures of all of the tees on my flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/pyralis16/ I'm even modeling them all so you can see better how they look.

Anyways all reconstructions are for sale and unless called for here will be going up on www.LillianDietel.etsy.com later tonight when I get around to reformatting all the photos to the square etsy format.

littlem Oh if you did I totally missed it! I have 3 machines currently in my kitchen (and alot more in storage with various family members lol) but I only use two of them when doing reconstructions for the tees. My primary one is a "cheapie" overlock machine... it's a White Speedylock 1600. The overlock is the machine that binds the edges and usually has 3-4 spools of thread on top. I also us a Singer Scholastic teachers model machine that I use for the straight and fancy stitches for hemming and the overlay patches.

twiggyhall Thanks I like this one too. :)

oh nice, thanks for the info! i don't do too much sewing but i need a new one for small repairs, etc. and maybe experimenting. so it's all greek to me. i pretty much just need something that is easy to use, right now!

i loooove this new one! if i could spend $45 right now, i totally would. maybe after my next paycheck, unless someone beats me to it!
pyr4lis
pyr4lis on Jul 25 '08 at 2:38pm
lol. Well everythings loaded to etsy right now but they don't seem to be moving too fast. I probably need to do more promoting at blogs that are not just heree :P

And as far as machines go littlem.. some people are snobby about sewing machines but depending on what you want to do really any machine will work. If you're just looking for a regular straight stitch machine you can just get an old singer machine from a garage sale or craigslist for cheap and that will work just as well as a fancy one from a sewing store.

If you want to do the tee shirt overlock stitch you'll need a special machine for it. The White Speedylock machine I have is the cheapest one out there.. I think I paid about $250 for it but you can find them less expensive if you buy used on craigslist.

hi pyr4lis! I got a few shirts in the $5 sale that are too big for me hoping to reconstruct. I botched one so far and was wondering maybe I could send them to you! Don't know if you have the desire or the time, but I love your Attack and Ignorance is Bliss shirts (I have Foxy and Ms Scarlet intact). Let me know!

I'm also thinking maybe uploading pics of the remaing tees and maybe offering them up for custom reconstruction requests.. I'm not sure if there'd be interest in that or not.

just added you! and as a side note since i'm not sure what time zone you're in i live in LA so i'm running on pacific time. :)

RobinNJ Just a note that your reconstruction is almost done. I'm just tweaking the armholes and neckline so it doesn't gather the design too much. But the tie is done and I just love the way it looks... I stitched the edges so the cotton jersey "ribbon" lays flat and kinda ruffles and twists a little which is super pretty.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I've been wanting to leave you positive feedback on Etsy, but I want to do it when I have an "appreciation" photo to include.

I wore your shirt the other day and got tons of compliments! But I wasn't feeling photogenic that day, so didn't take photos - once it's out of the wash, I plan on taking a pic or two!
pyr4lis
pyr4lis on Jul 30 '08 at 9:54pm
awesome! :) I'm so glad you liked it... and don't worry.. feedback is welcome when you're ready. I also usually wait to leave feedback until I can leave a great appreciation shot when I buy stuff too!

Would you be willing to do another one with double straps like Attack of Literacy? I love that one! And I'm willing to pay extra for the extra work :)

I'm thinking either "Penguins are My Home" or "Everybody Loves a Yeti" if those aren't spoken for yet... maybe with dark purple straps?

Let me know, Lori :)

Twiggyhall Sure thing. Both of those are still open. You have my email? pyralis at hotmail dot com Drop me a line and we can figure things out. I need to double check those two shirts to be sure there's no damage on them that would interfere with the reconstruction.

ladykat No problem! I'm excited to see your pic whenever you get around to it :)

Hrmm... I've got a A.A. in Design & a B.A. in Fashion Design. Sucky though that with all those degrees I've only ever had to take 1 computer graphics course. But I've learned alot through working experience. Anyways I'm currently working as an Accessory Designer in LA.

I love my cat. His name is Zelazny and he's just the sweetest kitty ever! He love people... even strangers! He love taking naps where he doesn't belong and being picked up and those little kitty treats with the crunchy outside and squishy inside. He love feather sticks and little catnip mice. He does not like dogs and other cats. He is a big bully and will try to beat them up. He will also meow until you pick him up and give him attention. :D
