OK so I just looked at ryan air and in theory I can get to europe for about £100, if we do this trip we have to make this as cheap as possible, so its either we crash at peoples houses or do a group booking in a hotel and attempt to get a group discount.

My other problem is my work schedual and I'm not really going to know what it is until after christmas.

Do you know 'Stena Line' this ferry sails from Harwitch, UK to Hoek van Holland, Netherlands.

This costs 33 euro for a single trip, so 66 euros for a retour ticket. If you during the day you don't need to hire a room on the boat.. and you can always bring your own food, so for 66 euros you can come from Harwich to Hoek van Holland and back.

A hotel will cost you about 20 euros if you go for 1 night in a cheap stay ok.

I'm going to Hamburg next year in spring, there's a very cheap hostel right at the Reeperbahn. Hamburg is pretty cool I think.
