Hey! This is sort of random, but also relevant. As some of you may know, after graduating from college I got hired as a graphic designer totally out of the blue by this company, basically because they saw my Threadless work. They mostly do open source software development and build websites for NGO's like the World Bank and the UN.

I've been there for about a month now, and one of my first major projects just went live! I did all the illustration for the Open Atrium website. Including this:
translate.openatrium.com and some illustrations for the "about" section, like this one:

It's a pretty cool place to work. They're really open to letting me go crazy with design.

Dear Saman,

That is THE best designed open source site I have ever seen. Great Job!

For people who don't know what this program does, it is an open source alternative to Basecamp. And Basecamp is a web app that companies use to have workers collaborate online.

All The Best,

Thanks! Yeah, ilovecomputerz, the lead designer at Development Seed is really good. I just did the illustration work. He did the rest. He also designed all the Open Atrium themes and stuff.

Hehe... not that this is your thing, but I just spotted a typo.
It says "suck in iCal"

on the /features page.

Also, wow. That is rather a big thing! And it looks great!

You used inkscape too?
BlameTheSuburbs

Yeah, that's all inkscape. At work I only use inkscape (we've got the whole open source thing going on).

What OS do you run your Inkscape on? And does it detect pressure from a tablet?

a) osx. i'm a noob.
b) I don't use a tablet at all at work. I've never used one with Inkscape. If I use a tablet, I use it with either illustrator's blob brush or Flash's brush. I'm not much of a tablet person though.

Inkscape documentation says it senses pressure from tablets (check out the tutorial on calligraphy that comes with the download).
