i hate it. i get nervous and talk too fast, and then i finish and think i forgot something, and then i run away.

i had to talk to a group of freshmen today to tell them about Design Council at our college. man. it was tough.

I'm sorry, I know how you feel. I'm a pretty bad public speaker myself. My voice gets really shaky and I stumble over my words.

I can't speak in front of groups of people, even if it's a very small group, and even if it's close friends. I blush and stammer. Weird, because I used to play in bands and had no trouble with that.

did it go well?

I feel very, very lucky to enjoy public speaking. I know that for most people it's a terrible ordeal, or at least something they would really prefer not to do, so I think it's a pretty admirable thing... glad you were able to get through it.

I mean, I think it's a pretty admirable thing when someone who doesn't like it is able to do it anyway.

I'm terrible at public speaking or really any type of speaking in general. I'm just bad at communicating verbally with people.

I'd like to think I'm good at it, but I am probably not..I talk way too fast. So..oh well. Rarely do I have to do any public speaking.

oh, yay! That sounds good, then. I know it's kind of hard to go sell something... I've gone to talk to big groups of middle schoolers a couple of times about the high school I go to (it's the district's small, alternative one). I wish I were funnier, because I think that makes the entire thing much easier.

any kind of quote at all
''Sort of' is such a harmless thing to say. Sort of. It's just a filler. Sort of - it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things, sort of means everything. Like after "I love you" or "You're going to live" or "It's a boy!'

I want to say that underneath it all
You are my friend
And the way that I fell for you
I'll never fall that way again
I still believe despite our differences
That what we have's enough
And I believe in you and I believe in love
