how do I save a drawing at a higher resolution? they said I need to save at 150dpi and i dunno how....someone gave me the software with no instructions so im learning =/

go to:

file, new
window pops up

adjust the resolution there. you want to do this before you start working on the piece. 300+ resolution is best.

Change resolution to 300 pixels/inch.

I assume we're talking about Photoshop?
The dpi alone is meaningless, right? It goes with an image size.
The minimal resolution is 150 dpi at the final printed design size on the shirt. As the guys above said, 300 is better because you have an upward margin for printing size, and more possibilities for printing on other media which generally require better resolution. 300 is a typical photograph res, although not the highest there is.

5x10 inch at 300 dpi is exactly the same (in pixel size and file size) as, for instance, 10x20/150, or 1x2/1500.

Current monitors have a 72 dpi resolution, 100 for the high res pro stuff. Consequently, an image that looks good at a given size on the screen is printable at only 1/4 (or 1/3 for hi-res monitors) the size: that's usually not much.

you want to do this before you start working on the piece. Indeed! It's useless to resize something if you started too small, the resampled file will be all blurry.
