Can someone explain to me HOW this got printed?
It's a rip-off. It has to be copyright infringement. And it's not even funny.
LAME.

the blog title is the perfect caption for the photo. I think it's ok because of the 'parody' clause in the copyright law

I'm getting it for my sister who lives in NYC. That just makes it better.

Actually, I don't know that "I heart NY" would be copyrighted....they must sell it in every gift shop and corner stand in NYC...
It would be interesting to find out that it actually is copyrighted.

The original design is by Milton Glaser. I believe the state of New York actually owns the copyright to the design. I may be wrong but I seem to recall reading that somewhere..

I think this qualifies as "parody"

I think it's lame.
The person who made that got 1,000 USD for umm... writing some text.
xD

But, I can see how some people really can like it.

People pay thousands of dollars to learn to use text in an appealing way. I personally wouldn't buy this shirt, but at least it's well done, IMO.

I think the shirt's great and I think Threadless has a moral duty to make it and sell it.

Our silly little t-shirt company made a 'parody' of this shirt a few years back: I Heart STL (http://www.mustrock.com/tshirts.html) to show love for our landlocked little burg. I'm am currently embroiled in a legal 'dispute' with the New York Dept. of Economic Development over trademark infringement and have had to get a lawyer involved.
