I just don't want to tell anyone about this incredibly amazing site.

Okay, so maybe I might be a little selfish.

But I know that two weeks from the moment I tell anyone about Threadless, half of Miami will be wearing the same shirt as me. Granted, I might earn a couple of Street Team points, I'd rather just keep my mouth shut and own all these awesomely unique shirts.

Alright, maybe I'm a lot selfish. But I don't care anymore, keeping this secret is definitely worth it.

Whenever anyone asks me where I bought my tshirt, I'll just keep making stuff up. I'm good at that anyway.

I don't even remember how I came across Threadless. I've already bought ten of their shirts and now I'm not sure how I ever lived without them. And I sure don't planto stop buying tshirts anytime soon.

Does anyone else keep Threadless from their friends? Or am I the only one? Somehow, I doubt I'm alone on this. But I could be very wrong.

REEALLLY!!?! i have told people and they bought t's....when you and your friend wear a threadless tee at the same time, it is a special bond that can never be replaced :)

I know what you mean. I love my best friend to death and I wish I could tell her about it. But her boyfriend is a loud mouth who would tell all his friends and they will tell all their friends. And it will be this vicious cycle that will never end!

I told my boyfriend though, and hes ordered a couple of shirts from Threadless too. But he can keep a secret. So at least I can share that with him. :o)

My younger brother found out about it though. He walked into my room while the site was opened on my computer. And he helped himself to look around. So now he wants me to buy him some shirts. I told him I would, bBut I'd kill him if he told any of his friends where he got them. So we'll see how that goes.

I don't tell people, I'd rather not be copied off of, or have people with the same shirt as me. ( although I've seen another girl at my school wear stuff from threadless)

get all your friends to buy from your street team link, you would get free shirts!!!

I've told a few people but I really don't want to tell many more.
MoniqueH
MoniqueH on Oct 14 '05 at 5:54pm
It's not worth it and not everyone will use it. Also the more people who know the more people will find out about it and they won’t use it.
Leslee
Leslee on Oct 14 '05 at 5:57pm
I've told a few people - namely, people who forget something right after they've been told. Which usually means they're the type of people to use a streetteam link wrong, too. Meh. They usually only buy one shirt and then never come back, so it's not really worth it for either of us, I guess.

I've only ever seen a stranger wearing Threadless ONCE, though, so maybe I ought to tell more people.

dorkeh on Oct 14 '05 at 5:58pm
I don't tell anyone. EVen if they don't even come on and buy, I'd hate it to become a trend.

I only told my good friend gina about the McGyver shirt, because she is obsessed with him. That is all.

   jublin on Oct 14 '05 at 6:29pm
i know how you feel. i just hope they keep printing new shirts and stuff so then at least some of the shirts i already have will be a bit "rarer" to find.

   d3d on Oct 14 '05 at 6:41pm
i'm with jubbles, retire old designs so the rarity factor remains. then at least there's no harm in actually promoting the site, rather than everyone keeping tight lipped about it.

I tell my friends when they ask, knowing that they are too cheap/boring to buy cool shirts. I've gotten 2 shirts for people as birthday presents, though.

You arent the only person in Miami who knows about Threadless...I wouldn't stress it.
snoonies585
snoonies585 on Oct 14 '05 at 8:12pm
Ok good, at least I'm not the only one who feels that way. And for sure if I were to tell people, they wouldn't use my link to give me points and would end up whoring the site around because thats how they are about things.

And I never said I was the only person in Miami who knew about Threadless. I didn't mean to imply it either. That would just be a stupid thing to think.

agreed people shouldnt know about threadless. my friend told me about threadless and made me swear never to tell anyone. so i didnt. we would both end up wearing threadless shirts on the same day and just say something like "hey nice shirt".. but also we had things planned out about who buys which shirt and stuff like that. also you arent supposed to "overdo" the shirt. it ruins the originality of al l of the shirts. thirdly.. freshman somehow figured out about threadless at my school so i only wear shirts i know they dont have.. like mp(3) which is my favorite... and i told them if they ever buy it i'll kill them.

I do the same thing and only tell my closest friends, so we can share the awesomeness of threadless. Other then that I just tell people I got it at a store or online.

lucky for me, my very best friends don't quite love my threadless shirts as much i do. in fact, they think i'm a quack.

I would be very safe telling all my friends, if they would ask - they're all 39+ like me, and they don't wear t-shirts unless they're doing stuff like painting or mowing the grass. That is so very boring and sad to me. :(

Dacia on Oct 17 '05 at 5:26pm
Yeah me and one of my best friends, used to be the only ones at our school that we knew of who bought shirts. We made sure we didn't buy the same shirts and everything. Somehow lots of people in my grade know about it now..and one girl just bought a fathom farewell. I got sad cause i've wanted it for so long, and it was reprinted when I was broke.

I keep it to myself and a few friends, that don't tell anyone. The great thing about Threadless, to me, is that it's original. No one has my shirt. No one knows where my shirt came from. That just look at in awe and whenever they ask where I got it, I normally just say, "I got it off the web"
KatieTheMofo
KatieTheMofo on Oct 17 '05 at 6:52pm
Threadless already prints the shirts in limited quantities, so not EVERYONE would have it.

I like to tell people about Threadless. =)

The more people, the better!

I ordered Fathom Farewell a couple days ago and I can't wait until it gets here! But its very nice of you, flourpower, to buy it for your friend even though you can't get it for yourself.

And I would be very sad too, Dacia, if I wasn't able to buy a shirt I've wanted but someone else I know buys it instead.

Anddd it makes me sadthat none of your friends, gamejunkie, wear tshirts. I can't imagine living without them!

Aye, I love keeping Threadless a secret!

It's a mixture of "dude, they went as far as to ask about the shirt, why not reward them with the URL" and "NO! MY THREADLESS, NO ONE ELSE'S!". Still, it's nice to know the shirt was unique enough to elicit such an inquiry.

I often crack and offer a "threadless.com" answer. I really should give them my Street Team link instead.

i am totally with ya! i mean as much as i want to spread the threadless word at the same time i dont want everyone else i know wearing the same thing. I have shared threadless with my roomates so then we combine shipping.

I tell people when they ask, I mean I like that not many people know about the company but most people forget the name of the company after the conversation moves on and never buy anything.

Whenever people ask where I got my shirt[s], I try to distract them by falling down stairs or tripping on nothing.

But I'm going to have to think of a new plan, because there are only so many body parts to break and bruise in the name of Threadless...

Crap, I'm telling everyone I think will like the site. Good for them, good for me, good for Threadless. I get excited like the dork I am when I see people out and about wearing a threadless tee.
