Potential Sub

hey guys

now im on uni hols i'm planning on cranking out a few new designs. this is a painting i did last year, or the year before maybe, and i'm thinking of turning it into a design.

bump...anyone got any ideas for backgrounds or how i can blend this baby in? i'm thinking the bricks could work, but i want to add a few other things too...

I'm not sure what colors you'd use, but I'd definitely look around for inspiration.

bump...updated...ive yet to do the shading...anyone got any ideas on background? i'm thinking maybe adding a couple of people next to him listening?

i have to do more shading...i dunno about the bricks, are they taking too much away? maybe i need something more fine and lighter?

i like the perspectives except when it comes to the stool, because when i first looked at it, the legs looked like pipes coming out of his bum. in fact, this might even be more interesting if the subject were a female.

one more thing...in the painting it looks like there is a porch railing off to the side. that would be great if the person was sitting on that railing and/or leaning against a column. it would eliminate the stool but still portray the feeling of the moment.
