Actually, this made me think of "The Divine Fool," which is a Tarot card. The positive aspect of the Fool is that "...[he] doesn't need to stay constantly focused on his surroundings, even though he is traveling a dangerous path. Here we see a Fool who is so connected with the universe that he has become an actual part of the universe, which will let no harm become him..."
(it's from this site: http://theunicornshoppe.com/articles/fool.htm)
I think you should carry the color red over from the original design onto the shirt. Somehow I thought that was significant, so I did a brief search, and found this:
"[in Hindusim] A red colored dress is put on deities who are charitable, brave, protective, and who have the capacity to destroy evil."
(from this site: http://www.webonautics.com/mythology/factsinhindu2.html)
I rather love the design, I think it's very subtle and allusive. The only thing I suggest is to carry the red over onto the shirt, especially using the airbrush/spatter style you've got in the version on the right.
