What do i need to know? Will it kill all my stuff? Should I back everything up?

back your shit up if you have an external drive.

other than that, it's easy as shit. you just run the installer and an hour later you have a brand new OS. the install is perfect.

I've been meaning to do it for ages, but my Mac is so old (the 17inch G4 iMac) that I'm worried it won't be able to handle the new OS. I'm probably better off just getting a new machine.

I have the new software, but like krakaboom my mac is pretty old, its a G5. when I tried to install it I realized that the install cd is on a dual layer dvd, and my dvd drive doesnt read those, so I have to buy a new dvd drive and I also want to get an external HD to back everything up before I install it. problem is I have yet to have that extra cash to buy these two necessary items to do the install.. maybe with that stimulus check.

let us know how your update goes so I can know what to expect when I finally do mine.
