To begin with, Fruit of the Loom t-shirts can "suck it long, and suck it hard." Secondly, the weird colored version of the Slim Slack that American Apparel just released is awesome. I wish I had $68. Vote on my slogans?

I HATE American Apparel. Passionately. I wrote an essay about it.

I love the way their CEO shows his cock to his employees and masturbates in front of them. He's so cool!

Uh plus union busting is TOTALLY cutting edge.

unions are the only way to prevent supervisors/higher ups from abusing the workers.
Aristarchus
Aristarchus on Dec 06 '06 at 5:56pm
Showing your cock to your female employees does not make your company "sexually driven". It makes you a fuckhead.

Not you, Phonograph, but one who shows one's cock...

hadaloo... did you really write an essay or was that idle hyperbole? if its true, i'd love to to read!

but yeah... AA has some great clothes, some good aspects, and some... sketchy aspects. but thats everything in life. sexually motivated? probably... but just remember that the internet wouldn't be what it is today without porn and the military... so without the billions and billions of dollars motivated by masturbation and killing/destroying things, we wouldn't be able to buy cool t-shirts and write crap just to hear ourselves type.

oh... and unions were awesome back in the day, you know, when women were burning to death in the pursuit of waistcoat manufacture (ah, Triangle, circa 1911) and children and minorities were losing limbs in the machines... but today, it has outlived its usefulness i think. the fact that its ILLEGAL for me to walk over to a wall outlet to plug in strobes when shooting in publicly owned/operated facilities in NYC just pisses me off. that i have to pay some poor fat useless schlub $75/hour to do it FOR me if i'm not willing to shell out $3k-$4k to purchase giant batteries, is downright rage inducing.

Well sir, if you look, we both posted at 6:00pm, so please allow me to explain that you had not posted while I was typing to assemblylinehuman, and if you had, and I were to have seen it, I certainly would have directed it to him. Adieu.

it's more about preserving a way of life for all workers; unions are good for. there's something about people getting organized that makes people with the semblance of power, get nervous.
shirtflirt
shirtflirt on Dec 06 '06 at 6:12pm
well, as long as you acknowledge the fact that, like most religious people, you started with name calling.

stereotypes live on!

Shirt - I didn't want to have any disagreements with you so I called you what I thought was obviously a joking name. I'm sorry you were insulted enough to bring my pseudo religion into this.

Who cares what Charney does? It doesn't speak for the whole company or what AA stands for. If Bill Gates got busted for having crack on his persons would you rip on Microsoft? Well I would, but it wouldn't be justified. Just because Charney is an ass (and crazy, seriously) doesn't mean that AA doesn't have something good to say about the way business is conducted.

Union busting? Name one third world country that allows unions, and then tell me how many clothings companies operate there. Just because Charney doesn't want to deal with union hassles (or make his workers pay for membership) doesn't mean that he doesn't treat his employees fairley (except the ones he exposed himself to).

Wow, so many problems with a t-shirt company. Calm down people. There are way worse places to shop at than AA.
